Pellets don't fit in Precihole NX100 barrel

I have a Precihole NX 100 that is about 4 - 5 years old now.
About a year back, I faced a strange problem with it. I ordered a pack of Precipell pellets. As far as I recall this was my first time using Precipell pellets.
Oddly enough, the pellets seemed slightly larger than the barrel of the gun. I had to push the pellet in with a pencil tip (with the lead broken off) to get it to fit inside the barrel. If I didn't do this, firing the gun had no effect on the pellet, it just stayed stuck in the barrel where it was originally placed. The pellet had to be manually pushed inside the barrel to get it to fire.
Same problem with pellets from another box (but still Precipell).
This has been continuing for over a year now. Today, because it rained (in January) and the weather got colder than usual, even pushing the pellet into the barrel seems to have no effect. The rifle has to be fired 2-4 times to eject the pellet.
Without being too knowledgeable on the topic, I naively think the iron barrel might have shrunk somewhat. Or, the Nitro piston is losing its power (unlikely to be to such a large extent). Or I have been unlucky in repeatedly receiving bad batched of pellets.
What do you guys think? And how should I fix this?
