Nice detailed review of the Xena air rifle.Hopefully we will get to see accuracy test in the next part.

I am just curious why people are willing to put 10k into a springer when you can get a Nitro Piston at the same price from Precihole.
I am not in anyway saying Xena is inferior, but according to what I have researched, Springers lose their power after 1000-2000 shots while Nitro Pistons stay good for 5000 or more.
If you want something for long term use, wouldn't you want to use a Nitro?
Please correct me if I am wrong here.

Because the gun being discussed here is installed with Typhhon spring , which will easily last 3-5 thousand shots. Secondly nitro-pistons too lose power, they function but not at full power, and a replacement nitro piston costs Rs3000. A replacement spring costs Rs250. I can buy 12 springs for the cost of one nitro piston, giving me the independence to change springs even if there is slight loss in power. For long term use you have to open and service your gun sooner or later .
Then there are the personal preferences of tuning spring guns , nitros are sealed units. Nitros have harder cocking and snappier shot cycle.
And lastly why wouldn't someone buy a true second stage trigger over the same single stage trigger of PH?

your points are valid, same thing happened to my friend who using precihole nitro and two times we sent it to factory for install the new nitro piston, it is costly and time taking process. Now we have converted it to springer with the help of gunsmith and now it shoots good and cheaper too

Thank you for the response, that's exactly what I was looking for, I do not know how to open up a gun but the springer is looking like a much more appealing buy for me.

To add to Sam 47,'s comment, the spring decline (fatigue) of a springer is gradual, but a nitro piston is sudden. With all due respect to a NP, springers are more fun to shoot.
