My query to all veterans-

Is .177 air rifle with 1200fps is more lethal or
.22 air rifle of 800fps.

Kindly throw light. Accuracy aspect be ignored.

In the Indian context, only house rats are relevant to this question. Both will do the job on them. You may really want to think about this question.

Lethal ??????? .177 0r .22 ????

For a .177 0r .22 AR the Lethal word is only Relevant in context of Rodents irrespective of its Muzzle Energy. It may cause some harm or damage if it fired on a Human subject but I doubt that in any way it will reach to the point of Lethal definition ( May be some imported Weapon models have the Power to injure a Human target Seriously but it is again in Question)

and as rightly said by Vikram for Rodents any of the above mentioned variants will do their job.

There has been lot of power appreciation about .22 Aarmr hurricane 18 model.

I have NX 100 & Diana 460 Magnum, but both in .177 calibre. Diana is superb in power & accuracy, breaks beer bottle at 20 metres using 8.3 grain pellets.

Having heard about Aarmr .22,. I just want to know does it have the same power,. ignoring the accuracy aspect.

Lethality is all about energy delivered on impact and type of target. Energy is basically about velocity and mass of the projectile. Type of target is about density of the material.

yes you are right.. I have Aarmar Hurricane in .22 and its very powerful. I use the .22 rabbit shot gifted to me by one of my friend ( My Bad luck last 50/60 shots are left now) . At 25/30 Yrds it will instantly drop any vermin ( You need to Check the Pest control and wild Life Rules in your area Bro).
As per power Aarmar .22 is a good Air Rifle.

Also, Sir I am getting .22 Aarmr for Rs 16500/- in Dehradun and that too without bill. I feel he is charging considerably in excess.
Could you please advise on that.

That is because a .22 air rifle is considered a firearm under the new rules and requires license to possess.The dealer is not only breaking the law, he is making a good profit on the deal. Remember, ignorance of law is no excuse in the court.

Its on high side. Though I have seen the .22 is selling freely in Kanpur meerut and MP Towns but its against the law now. the price of the .22 is always under 10k.
