Bringing Co2 Pistols from abroad

Hi,
I will be travelling to Japan and South East Asia in November, What i want to know is that can i Purchase the co2 guns and bring them ? is it a problem with the customs ? I know they are dumbly unaware and outdated in their knowledge but still. is it worth taking the risk ? Please help with suggestions.

I would advise (strongly, if I may add) against getting anything that resembles a firearm. There are documented cases of ignorant officials stating these “firearms” could be converted to shoot live ammo including sending some of them to forensic units to prove the matter in court! What’s funnier, depending on whether you are the one being accused or not, is that the forensic unit then said these CO2 replicas could be used as potential firearms!

Unless it’s a holster, cleaning kit, optical sight etc, avoid taking the risk - it might become more than an inconvenience.
