SDB Frontier

Hello Folks,
After few weeks of reading through, i decided to be a spring break air pistol for casual plinking and target shooting, pistol because i didn't want it to be too big or unwieldy. I thought of going with precihole, but they seem to have no idea of bringing back the pistol version.
I settled on SDB Frontier air pistol (4.5mm). I received it today with 3 small boxes of pellets. The Pistol feels good. Wooden stock, rifled bore, adjustable sights and feels good at hand.
Its painted in yellow though
, planning to scrape of the yellow paint off the wood and polish it wooden.
Its feels pretty good to handle.
This being my first air pistol , i didnt know how powerful it can be - its quite good for few sample shots. Cocking is little diffult though.
Pretty excited, i'll post more updates as i play more with it.

I have a few questions
1. The the stock is made of wood but painted yellow, is it okay to use fine sand paper to sand off the paint and apply varnish? can i DIY or use a wood worker?
2. Will it damage the pistol if i fire shots without pellets?
3. Will the cocking get easier with time? Can i get a cocking assist?
4. How to keep the barrel from rusting?

I have few answers:
1. Moulindu of this forum has cleaned and varnished his IHP 35 stock. I hope you can search and find relevant post from him.
2. Yes.
3.
4. Regularly wipe the barrel and compression tube with oil. I use Arm-o-lub from kovibazaar.
Finally I also want to know the philosophy behind yellow, white, black stocks from SDB. They did similar color for Artemis also.

Pt 2. Yes
Pt 3. It should. Precihole used to supply
an aid with their pistols which are
now discontinued
Pt 4. Regular oiling of the barrel.
Pt 1. Will leave that to someone else to
answer.

I liked the Yellow colour which is an uncommon one and has a sporty look which I am again planning to buy. I own one similar one although different colour and I love almost all the colours provided by SDB.

Ideally Yes, because as I make my purchases from Great Eastern. Replacent stocks for Sdb AR's are available with them however the air pistol is slow moving item I believe would take some time to procure the stock. I can ask them on my next week visit.

Interesting stock, like a true pistol grip of yester years.
