Hey Folks,

I seek your guidance. I would like to buy a Diana 350 Magnum and if anybody could guide me to the right place or dealer would be great. I'm based out of Kerala and how do I get one.

In veiw of the new Arms Act, you might reconsider your decision for buying a magnum .22. In all probability this would be an illegal possession, and other than your own personal ownership satisfaction, it would be useless.

I guess you could...the law is still unclear on that. You should try Sharda Gun House in Delhi, he could have have one but he's expensive.

May I know the reason behind your fixation with .22 cal? A 20fpe gun in .177 will produce around 800fps with 15-16gr pellets which will typically have double the BC and at least double the penetration compared to a pellet of same weight in .22.. Unless you're hunting bigger animals (which FYI is illegal in India), you will certainly not need a bigger wound channel - a rat will die just as quickly with a .177 as with a .22!

For long range performance, pellets of same weight perform much better in .177 than .22 due to the higher BC. .22 holds the advantage in increasing the mass of pellet for a given power and stopping them from going supersonic. But springers seldom go supersonic with pellets over 16gr. Projectile geometry beats weight nearly all the time in ballistics!

The Diana 350 magnum and magnum springers for that matter are built for one purpose only, hunting. They are definitely not something you use for refining your shooting skills, and definitely not worth getting added to arms license. If you want to get a licensed AR, get a powerful PCP which will produce 2-3 times the power of the 350,is very easy to shoot accurately and will be able to shoot tight groups around 1-2" at 100 yards. Getting a license for a magnum springer is lot of hassle without any practical use of the AR itself,IMHO. It is a real loss of valuable energy in cocking a magnum repeatedly for nothing but punching paper.

@Ashishg, since you mentioned you would not mind adding a .22 AR to your license I presume you have a license for 3 weapons and already own them. If you can add a 4th to your license would it not make more sense to go for a .22 LR instead?
