Brand New IHP 35 in.22 cal

Hello guys,
Sorry I am not posting pics but I have 2 questions and hope you gentlemen can help me out with it.
1) I bought the rifle from a very reputed dealer in Bombay but only got a 2 MONTH warranty- have IHP reduced their warranty from 12 months to 2 months?? I trust the dealer completely but just want to know if a 2 month warranty is now the norm.
2) Pardon the naivety of this question but when I "broke the barrel" to test fire a pellet, I shook the rifle and found to my surprise that the barrel actually rattles a little- is this normal or does it mean the front screws attaching the barrel to the stock need tightening?
Thanks guys
Shailen

Hi Shailen , I am not sure about the point 1. But for the Point 2: You can fix it by tightening to screw . If you see this works, then remove the screws and apply a temporary thread lock "Loctite Threadlocker Blue 242" [
http://www.loctiteproducts.com/p/t_lkr_ ... ue-242.htm ] . Also you can shim the gap between the Break Barrel and the Powerplant joints where the Pivot screw runs through.
May be others can also advise. You can read though this website that talks about the maintenance and should help.
Have happy shooting with your new toy.
Rgds

Thanks for taking the time and effort for that David- really appreciated
. I shall definitely give it a try and see if it works if this is actually a problem
@Basuji - will try to post pics asap. I am aware that you are pretty technically proficient having read some of your posts. I do not mean to debate your point but I don't know if a picture would help as this "problem" (which may not even be a problem!) is not "visible".
Just to re phrase the question better- do all rifles have a little bit of "free play" upon being broken (not cocked) and hence the rattling. Mind you this happened when I broke the barrel and physically shook the rifle (side to side) and not when holding it still. Of course just to clarify there is no rattling when its not broken hence I feel this is a very basic and naive question
Apologies for repeating this, but as my other rifles are inaccessible to me for the moment I cant test if this is normal with all AR's or not.

Dear SMJ,
The free play of barrel while not in cocked position , is very common.
However good guns have least tolerance and they have least free play.
It is most important that when cocked , it must not indulge in free play by micro milimeter.
IHP is a nice gun and one can get better shooting pleasure if tuned.

Hello Basuji - I guess I was able to explain it correctly then
Thank you so much for that - it really puts my mind at ease
Thankfully, it does not move at all when cocked and ready to fire!
The 2 month warranty does bother me though

All IHP products still have 12 months warranty, irrespective of butt or caliber.

Dear SMJ,
You are incresing your arsenal at a rapid pace.
Both these guns are quite satisfying at given price.
Unfortunately both of these manufacturers do not bother about customer requirements.
If you put your ear onto the receiver , you will surely hear the cosmic symphony of various nature.
To make them civilized , you need to work on them.
Enjoy shooting.

Dear Basuji,
I must honestly admit the decision to buy an SDB was made inspired by your posts and those of Mr Bennedose
I have not had a chance to test either of my new rifles in the field yet and hope to do so soon!
Sadly I know the manufactures do not care much for customer service but thanks to this forum I know I have AR gurus like yourself to turn to in the even of any issues
Many thanks again for your help and response to my query on barrel free play
