Indians For Guns

I ordered a few small items for airgun maintainance from pyramidair.com, and fedex for some reason got it in as cargo and not courier. the items are,

Crosman Pellgun oil X2
1 each of
GrovTec Mountaineer Rifle Sling & Swivels, 48"x1.25", Black
RWS Air Chamber Lube & Dropper, Silicone Oil, .50 oz.
RWS Spring Cylinder Oil, 1 oz.
Birchwood Casey Gun Stock Wax, 3 oz.
and
Plano Gun Guard Gun Sock, Rifle & Shotgun, 52 inch X2

are any of these prohibited or controlled items? fedex has asked me for a mountain of paperwork, including NRAI membership card and supporting letter to clear the above items, even though there are no guns or ammo in the package.

they are not firearms nor parts their of, so no licence needed, nor are they air gun etc so no membership of clubs needed. they are just being pain in the A££.

explain to them what they are and that they are not prohibited or controlled items, if they say they are then ask for the proofe

thanks, i have both, the letter and the Icard, so thats not the issue, i just wanted to be sure, because i think fedex purposely brings such items in as cargo. they then ask you to go clear it yourself or they can do it for a fee. if they had got it in courier mode none of the documentation would be needed. anybody else has similar experiences?
im going to ask them to clear without letter or id. is their any notification i can refer them to?

I think I have heard of similar experiences from material purchased through pyramidair.com. If that is so, we probably should not but from there as I have ordered a lot of stuff from abroad through the suggestion of members and never faced any problems.

Received the stuff a couple of days ago. Required regular and constant follow up with fedex, took about a month to clear since arrival in delhi. Fedex charged Rs2850 as clearance charges and customs charged approximately 35% duty. Lots of forms had to be filled. Not worth the time, money and effort in case of small quantities of merchandise.
