I applied for a license for a 0.22" LR Rimfire Rifle for target shooting 2 months ago and today I received a call from the arms clerk in the District Collectors Office that the license was issued as I requested, valid for Andhra Pradesh and Telangana States. I applied for and was granted 200/600 ammunition quota. I already decided to buy a new IOF 0.22" Rifle directly from the factory because my budget for both Gun and building my own 50 mt shooting range on my farm is a maximum 1.2 Lacs. By shooting range I don't mean anything fancy. Just a 30 ft long and 12 ft high and 1 ft thick wall built with flyash bricks on RCC foundation and lined with sand bags and a sheltered shooting platform some 60 mts distant from the wall back stop but it would be as safe as any modern shooting range.
Now to the main topic. Even though I decided to buy an IOF Rifle I have never handled one. My son who lives in USA will be visiting us in about 10 days from now. I already purchased a shooting chrony Beta ( Blue ) chronograph from amazon.com and got it delivered to him to bring it home. Now I want to purchase a scope and mounts from Pyramydair.com and get them delivered to my son in USA before he leaves for India which is on 6th of May so that he would be able to bring them too. I settled on the following Scope and Mounts. I want to use the scope on my IOF Rifle as well as my Precihole Air Rifles. Please advice me whether my choice is okay or not.

I intend to use the RWS mount on one of my Precihole ORIONS fitted with a Gas Ram and one of the other three which suits best on the IOF 0.22" Rifle. I need your expert opinion urgently because I have to buy them and get them delivered to my son before he leaves for India.

Don't worry too much about the links
If you have not seen your rifle before, how you can be so sure that the scope and mounts are going to be worked.
Never been to India myself but there are lots of pains and problems bringing the shooting stuff back, so be sure whatever
Your son is bringing back is absolutely legal. And even if you start shooting without scope , will work for 50/60 meters.
Be safe, shoot straight - chow

Re: Need Advice about a Scope and Mounts.
I want to use the scope on an air gun which has a 11 mm dovetail and an IOF 0.22 RF Rifle which also has a 11 mm dovetail for scope mounting. I choose the RWS mount for my air guns which suffer from a tiny barrel droop problem because this mount has a built-in barrel droop compensation. As per the IOF Rifle I don't know which height mounts work well taking into consideration the size of the objective lens, and bolt clearance when raised. When I could not physically examine the goods I am buying to see whether they work for my purpose or not, I go by specifications select some within my budget and ask for expert's opinion. Even this is possible only now a days with internet and IFG. That is why I selected both medium and high profile mounts and posted here asking for expert's advice. And it is quite legal to bring in scopes and chronographs from abroad. The government has not banned that yet and a lot of people are doing that even through courier services and postal services from online shops located abroad.

The best solution for scope mounting lies here : http://www.dx.com/p/dovetail-rail-exten ... U8XIfmqqko
I've been using this on my NX-100 Scorpius without any issue.
