Indians For Guns

I was watching TV 9 Karnataka some days back.there was a report of death caused by air gun pellet. I can't remember the place , a woman hit by the air gun pellet ; when her brother in law's son playing with air gun. She was hospitalised but treatments failed, she didn't survived the incident.
One thing is clear, these irresponsible persons leave us all empty handed one day.

Very sad indeed... But I believe that the reason is not the airgun; it is the irresponsible behavior of the child. A knife is used to chop the vegetables but it can also be used to stab a person. So it is the user's fault not the Gun's .

These are accidents.

But humans are responsible for these incidents.

However, reading this thread compels me to make requests that might come across as rude. While posting we need to do a sense check of whether we have adequate information at hand to explain the circumstances, whether we can actually verify the news through a reliable channel, whether the post is adding value to this forum and members.

By creating these threads we are propogating half baked truths and falling into the trap of creating hype around an issue that will only get negative publicity and no learning.

I'm all for discussing firearm accidents if they help learn. Putting inadequate information and then saying humans are responsible is just preposterous.

The quality of content and responses on a thread that discusses something as sensitive as human death is quite dissapointing.

A small lesson:just keep our arms and ammunition out of the reach of children.

I'm afraid i disagree. Teach children firearm safety and supervise them in their formative years would be more plausible. But there is not enough information in the OP to confirm it was the child's fault.

Btw, airguns are not firearms.

I totally agree with SS on this one. it is an unfortunate event and having such a casual speculative/ judgemental discussion without knowledge of actual facts only adds gossip value to the forum.
