Got my first Air Gun - The Precihole NX100 .177

I have been an on and off follower of this website and a Gun enthusiast since my childhood days. Have had the privilege of
trying out Lee Enfield .303 (and .22), 12 Bore, .32 S&W, H&K MP5, AK56, Glocks, SIG Sauer etc. - courtesy NCC and friends in the Army.
But having your own baby is way better than someone else's. Since I don't shoot in some Rifle club, an Arms license is out of reach,
as of now. So after holding back for a long long time, i decided to get the best budget Air Rifle out there. Took an early morning
flight to Bangalore and headed straight to MG Road, where we have a guy running an Armory called the "Kovi Shop".
Went there in the afternoon and found that he has got a good collection of guns. But his quote was pretty high - 18.5K for a NX100 Pegasus,
500 pellets and a simple cover. On top of that he does not accept Card payment or give any bill!! He was actually asking if he could
under-bill to save taxes for me. I made a quick exit from the place.
Next stop - Olive Planet in R T Nagar - It's pretty far and it was almost closing time when i got there. This place is on the 4th floor of a building
and no signboard makes it a bit difficult to spot. But what a place, a Military Buff's dream, full of MIL Gear, Knives and Air Rifles of course.
Olive Planet is run by Capt. Chetan Y K (Retd.) who is a thorough Gentleman. He showed me a Silver barrel NX100 Polaris with a Wood Colored
Stock. We tried it out on the terrace and later he promptly replaced the Wooded colored stock with a Black colored one, on my request. Payment by
Card, authentic bill and warranty duly stamped - Now that's the way to do it - Army folks are perfect - always!
Got 2 boxes of pellets and a camo cover. Back to Chennai, by Bus - did not want to try transporting this by Air.
Last two days i have emptied a box of 200 pellets, the Rifle is slick, smooth and has great ergonomics. Feels like I am holding a G36, it does fit like a Glove!
Now being a first time Air Rifle owner, I am still getting used to the cocking thing - I would love to own a CO2 one and avoid the arm wrestling
Coming to performance, the Rifle is dead accurate - I am able to consistently get 0.5 inch groups for around 10 meters. Even tried knocking off some new format
one Rupee coins! As it has a Nitro Piston, the release is smooth, there are no jerks and above all, the sound too is not too high. I actually like the sharp signatue note!
Overall a slick gun to own. Folks buy the NX100 with closed eyes, you will not regret it because with each passing quarter, the Price keeps going up! Get one
before it becomes too expensive to buy.
Will post pics soon in this thread.
