Dear Friends,
I have purchased a new IHP National Air Rifle in .22 cal with all fibre stock. It is quite beautiful and accurate but I am facing a little bit of trouble with the sights. Overall it is a beautiful piece of rifle and I having fun with it. Can some one suggest me a firing range in Gandhinagar, Gujarat where I can practice. Also, please suggest me the best pellets that I can use with this beautiful air rifle to get best accuracy.
Regards,

No idea about ranges close to you. Best bet would be to try different pellets from different manufacturers and stick to the ones that give you the best results. There is no steadfast rule that says that pellets working well in one particular airgun should do the same job in your airgun too. By the way, .22 caliber airguns are not entertained in ranges.

Not many members do have IHP with synthetic stock.
I am very keen to see some closeups of various parts including back, front sights and breech seal.
Other member has already suggested that 0.22 is not allowed in most of the ranges.
IHP overall a very nice AR with good accuracy and moderate power.

Hi,
I wanted to post the images earlier also but unfortunately I was not able to due to some technical problem.
Having some problem with the balance of the butt. Its not perfectly balanced, tilts outwards when you draw it to position it on your shoulder.

Hi,
I shall post the pictures of sight as well as breech today. The problem with sight is, its a bit loose, whenever I fire a shot, due to the thud of the piston the adjustment is ruined and I have to do the zeroing again.

I have a rifle in .177 also, which is quite old. It was a gift from my late father. I can practise with it at a range, if required, I can procure another in .177 for the sake of practising. But the problem is with the availability of a shooting Range. Like I already said, I visited the website of Ahmedabad Rifle Club, Khanpur, Ahmedabad and the ordinary membership fee is 1,50,000 bucks....!!!
One cannot even practice in India with an Airgun.... Firearms were already out of reach of common people like us......

A nice black beauty !!!
It seems that the front and back sights are made of synthetic.
I understand that it has breech seal made of "O" ring.
Though it is difficult to note finishing from the pics.but otherwise it looks quite perfect.
I am very keen to know the state of the internals.
Happy shooting.....

Hi,
You are right, the front and rear sights are of synthetic polymer. The front sight is 100% polymer and the rear one is metal but only in springs and screws. I shall take clear pictures of the breech, seal and the butt.
The piston and trigger are quite smooth. When fired it produces a loud thud (which is not so loud in my other 0.177 air rifle) and this thud in my opinion shakes the rear sight off from its original setting, as the rear sight windage screw is a bit loose. Power is excellent, at 8 mtr. penetrated old aluminium coins 6 times out of 7, placed at the centre of the target on an artificial wood board. accuracy of the gun is also very good, if the sight would have been perfect it is a nice gun to practise.

Consistent quality is still an issue with IHP.
I was so inpressed by "V" notch of this synthetic sight , I used the same in my new breed SN45.
Fortunately or otherwise that was nice and perfect.
I urge you to watch a youtube video ..posted by sathyasniper about repairing of rear sight....hope that may help you.
Basu
your pics.are too heavy...do not open in my mobile so can not comment just now.
Which AR you have in 0.177 ?

National 45.....in 0.177....
Is it made by any company other than IHP ??
If it is of IHP.......and very old then its barrel is made of Hammerli most probably....
You should think twice before selling.
What is the serial no. ??

Hello ankur_ank007
> The fore-sight made of synthetic material is a recent addition, to IHP air rifles as also its synthetic stock....
> These in no way affect the performance; unless these have basic faults in their manufacturing....
> As regards to your mentioning that the rear sight except for screws, washers etc are synthetic, is a bit surprising....
> From the pics you have posted its rather difficult to ascertain as to what kind of material is used (metal / synthetic)...
> Lastly "PLEASE...do not use attention grabbing backgrounds while photographing" - keep your object (in this case your AR) on a plain background such as a plain bed-sheet so that the viewer's focus is on the AR...and not get diverted to the little bird framed with drift wood
