Pellet chapati

Folks, transfer of pellet energy to target has always fascinated me. When a pellet penetrates a target and goes through, some energy is used up to make a hole in the target and some energy to distort the pellet.
But when you shoot pellets at very hard, almost unyielding targets you make pellet chapatis - some of which look pretty. It's a slow Sunday - I can't find 35 meters of cable that I have misplaced. Instead let me give you this.
Here is a series of pellet chapatis: Left to right:
1. Precipell - shot at a hard unyielding porcelain target at 25 meters. Pellet flattened from a length of 7 mm to 2.3 mm. The disc is 13 mm wide
2. GSmith steel head: Metal target - dented so the flattening is less - from 8.3 mm length to 3.8 mm. 9.3 mm wide chapati
3. Diana Flat head - Mtal target dented - so less flattening - 6 mm length to 3.5 mm. 8 mm wide chapati
