2 months back , I eventually joined my school rifle club because I always had a thing for air rifles . So this led me to join this forum . And trust me guys as I read more and more , the more speechless my coach gets the next day . ( he rarely teaches us new stuff ) . I ask each and every thing i read , that he doesn't even have an idea off .

So , as I practised , with barely tuned IHP 25 .177 , and mastershots flatheads ( fhite box) I managed to get some decent scores in 5 shots . And from last 1-2 weeks I ve started to hit 3-4 groups . Thanks to you guys for help .

And now I get to the topic , today. As I finished my 2nd. Box of mastershot (White box ) I got a new aluminium tin of mastershots. (Flatheads ). From my coacch for. 500₹ . The tin I got today is pretty rare by looks because I searched and found no such packing of mastershots. On internet . Even the quality of these pallets seem to be superior than the one a in white box. The thing what makes me think these are different because of text on the tin that says * 500 HIGH SPEEDS *. Pellets do have a noticeable seam . No deformities at all .

Could you guys please tell me what pellets have I bought and are they worth the money I paid .
You guys rock

And here are the pics to be precise

Beautiful looking pellets. But a pellet's worth canonly be judged by the consistent accuracy it gives.

The MS pellets look quite well constructed & finished....
Could you check with your coach as to where from did he procure these?
Would like to try some in 22 cal....

It seems the thickness of the skirt is more which may cause less velocity .Regarding accuracy and consistency , the gun and shooter can only say.
You can talk to Mr Taygi ,no.available in their website and get things clarified.

What makes you think so? On the contrary it would provide an ideal ballast to the pellet during its flight.
Velocity      .....Accuracy - Accuracy - Accuracy is the end goal :D

I have used those green tin MS pellets cost me Rs. 350/- per tin two years back
The lead used is very hard compare to the normal yellow box & my IHP 35 gives me better grouping with yellow box pellets

Build quality looks pretty good. I would echo Brihaji, I want these in .22 cal.

Please let us know where to procure these.

Dear Briha,
The heavy skirt expands less with air blast thus it fails to grip the bore wall and also during travel through bore , it receives more resistance , delivering less velocity.
This is my observation in general with various pellets that I used.

I tried out these pellets today .
1) velocity is surely more than the ones in white box . ( clear wholes punched in the target )
2) shots weren't consistent . No group formed today .

Hi Aman,
Interesting find. Do post the accuracy review here after shooting these new pellets. They sure do look well finished.

Hi Guys!
Herewith is an excerpt on Choosing the Right Pellet for your Air Rifle....Hope you find it useful :D

Best Air Rifle Pellets
The right one makes a difference!!!
Ref: www.huntinggearlab.com/best-air-rifles/ ... e-pellets/

Choosing pellets for your air rifle can seem a bit tricky at first. It is important to note right off is that there are no right or wrong pellets.

Instead, selecting the correct pellets depends on finding the best air rifle pellets for your specific gun and the type of shooting you most commonly do. In my opinion, any pellet that does this is the best air rifle pellet.

One of the first things you will notice when looking into the best air rifle pellets for your gun is the vast variety of types available. Generally, the different types are based primarily on shape, but weight and caliber are other factors to consider.

The most important thing to remember is that it isn’t type of pellet you should most worry about – it is quality of pellet. And that is why you should always buy your pellets from an established and reputable manufacturer. It is all too easy to get sucked into buying low-priced bargain pellets but you need to resist the temptation to save a little money. In addition to lower performance, low-priced pellets run the risk of sticking in the bore or damaging your air rifle.

To help you find the absolute best air rifle pellets for your air gun, I put together the little buyer’s guide below. It explains the differences between the best types of air gun pellets and then lists a recommendation for a particular brand and model for each. But first a quick look at matching your pellets to the bore size of your air gun is needed…

PELLET SIZE
The pellets that you buy need to match the bore size of your air gun. As straightforward as this may sound, many newcomers to air gun shooting don’t take it into account. If the pellets you bought don’t fit your gun, chances are you just wasted some money.

After matching up the pellet to the bore size of your air rifle, the rest is left up to trial and error. I’d say grab a couple different kinds of pellets at first (all matching the correct bore size of your air rifle) and test them for accuracy. There is little doubt that you will be amazed at how differently each separate pellet fires from the same gun.

DIABOLO SHAPE
Nearly every type of air rifle pellet that is widely used today is constructed in the DIABOLO shape. Basically, this means that they are larger on both ends and have a thinner middle area.

The DIABOLO shape has numerous benefits. Chief among them is that they are extremely efficient in the chamber and bore, as well as in flight. This all relates to the self-stabilizing design.

The four main types of air gun pellets all feature the DIABOLO shape. The actual specific design of the head is what makes them different from one another and determines their primary usage.

WADCUTTER PELLET
Wad-cutter-pellet feature a flat head with a slight bevel on the edge and have long been considered the most accurate air rifle pellet available. This makes them a solid bet for target shooting competitions. They cut a sharp-edged hole in paper targets making them easy to score.

POINTED PELLET
As its name implies, the head shape of a pointed pellet is just that, pointed. It ends in a very sharp point that is designed for maximum efficiency when penetrating small game. These air rifle pellets were specifically designed for hunting.

The waist area of a pointed pellet is slightly larger in diameter than other types of pellets. This is to make up for the reduced weight that the pointed head causes. The thicker middle ensures that they remain accurate and stable without reducing overall punch. They seem to have better accuracy and are cast with excellent uniformity. They fit snuggly inside most rifles and work great at both high and low velocities.

ROUND NOSE PELLET
Another great option for air rifle pellets is the round nose pellet. These have a protruding area on the head, ahead of the driving band, that increase weight and provide an even bigger punch upon impact. The round protrusion also decreases wind resistance.

Round nose pellets are perfect for higher caliber air guns that have faster and more powerful velocities. They maintain speed over long distances and aren’t knocked off course as much by wind and other factors & really shine even at distances of 50 yards.

HOLLOWPOINT PELLETS
Hollow-point air rifle pellets are similar in design to the wad-cutter shape. They are designed for shorter ranges and lower velocities that require a one-shot kill.

The hollow-point shape makes this pellet accurate and efficient during flight. They combine the increased weight and knock down power of a round nose pellet with the wad-cutter shape mentioned above. This makes them perfect for short distance small game hunting or home pest control.

Finally selecting the best air rifle pellets is not about calling for the best-reviewed pellets available. Instead, it is about experimenting and finding the ones that are best suited for your particular air rifle and shooting preferences.
HAPPY SHOOTING!!!
Briha

'real old timer'..... pretty much an understatement but yes !!

i kind of liked those pellets...cheaper alternative for the older UK 5.6 bore rifles.

the older Elly Wasp 5.6 in blue tins costs a ton now.
