I called up for some orders to airgunindia some days back but unfortunately they dont have any stocks right now. Moreover you need to produce rifle club membership to get a gun from them and also from relishsports. And everybody knows how easy it is to get a rifle club membership in India. Even the availability of clubs is a big issue here. These are the reasons company like airsoftgunindia of that fellow magician is selling the guns on 3-4 times higher prices easily. People are really helpless here.

Hi CBirje....Airgunindia sells air guns but for which they require rifle club membership....without rifle club membership we need to occur cost double / triple than the actual cost of these air guns....

That magician crook must be thrown behind bars. The loony quoted me 75k for a 12k gun! But he always says 70% go as bribe!

Airsoft is indeed an expensive hobby but atleast the ones he sell must retail for much much less. It's mainly coz of him many similar sellers are quoting cutthroat rates.

The .177s he sell may be all illegal import or obtained with other's papers without their knowledge.

So Ganesh, are you saying there is a provision to import .177s "without" membership, by paying "2-3" times the actual? Being the cesspool India is, it must be the bribe only as officially it is impossible.

If you fellows are members, why do you need an intermediary to order airguns from overseas? Just place the order yourself from any reputed global retailer and take delivery here. Where is the need for a middleman?

Unless I'm mistaken, airgunindia is run by some fellow who was banned from this site for dubious dealings. Caveat emptor...

A friend of mine who is a seasoned airgunner with membership had got his .177 gun stuck at customs for a couple of months, before it could be released after too much effort. So it doesn't seem to be a smooth enough process for all even with membership.

Airgunindia guy from Bombay was an authorized dealer for JM stuff, until he started selling Maccari fakes & got shunted out by JM. That said, my only two experiences were fair enough except for his usually rude behavior on phone.

Folks ! ! ! Here's some advice.

1) He sells because you buy. Don't blame him. Help the system. Be straight forward. Avoid being cheated and all those who exploit will be forced to reckon. Change has to start some were. I did not have imported rifles for a long time because I did not want to contribute to the black market. I was blessed when an uncle gave me one he got legally. I now have a membership and I'm further enjoying the benefits on imported air rifles. I knocked a few doors till one opened. It is hard to get a rifle club membership.....but not impossible. Perseverance prevails.

2) You can get your rifle from customs if you keep at it (provided there in no temporary ban like we have seen a couple of time in the recent past).Don't shell the green. Equip your self with the required knowledge well (you can learn a lot, if not everything for this forum). If customs realise you know the rules, it might make it easier since they know they are dealing with a tough cookie.

3) If you want to avoid the hassles of customs, chase up's etc., then try relish sports. They do the paper work for you (if you import through them). I know a couple of people who have used them and are very happy. I have not bought rifles through them, but I have bought a lot of pellets, rails, maintenance item etc. In my opinion, they are the best in service and pricing. Many senior members of the form use them too.

4)If you are looking for a great springer, Precihole air rifles are in the league of many imported springers. You have a spring version and a Nitro piston version.

Thankfully, options are much better that when I was in my teens.
