Guys,

I need some guidance.
I want to buy a Walther Lever Action Air Rifle. For a detailed history, check out the post "Walther Lever Action".
I finally got my membership, and have saved up enough dough to buy it.

The problem:

There is a new version of the rifle available at a German site.
However, Relishsports.com has said that they cannot procure the rifle for me.

Thus, I have 2 questions:

Firstly, should I try to import the gun from the German site by myself, or should I buy the normal one from relish sports?
Please note that I am not a state/national level shooter, and cannot get a registered shooter letter from the NRAI.

Secondly, are there any other sites/people/organisations, like relish sports, who can help me bring in the gun from Germany?

Also, it seems to me that I've annoyed the good people at Relishsports, as they don't pick up my calls. Can anyone here who has a good rapport with them please talk to them and maybe find out what the problem is? They haven't replied to my last email either.

Thanks,
Cheers,

Luke

I`ve just seen a test on the Umarex Walther lever action .177 air rifle and discovered that it`s a real gutless wonder. It`s only rated at 7.5 joules ( 5.5 ft lbs ) but tested at a decidedly sad 4.1 ft lbs ( 5.5587 joules. ) Air rifles in the UK are limited to 12 ft lbs ( 16.26959 joules ) ( above 12 ft lbs they are classified as firearms and a firearms certificate is required ) Decidedly pathetic - they make less than the legal 6 ft lbs max allowed for an air pistol. Obviously it`s only a plinker ..... but one that`s not really much more effective than an airsoft gun. The rifle is not exactly inexpensive either and looks a very bad deal compared to the Umarex ( Hammerli in some markets ) 850 magnum which is also CO2 powered but makes over 11 ft lbs.
I know you`re desperate to get this thing but it pretty much sucks in all departments but looks.
