Late morning, the sun is out. How's that for surprises! the neighbours are away to work, and the silence of a cambridgeshire village is interrupted by a punctuated thak-thak-thak...

after siting a different scope, and a couple of rough zeroes, i finally got my tools together to do the final zero at 20m on the scope on my tack driver, the 0.177 pro sport. it did feel comfortable but heavy when the amours began. now, after putting countless shots and getting to know it better, our love is cemented.

the holes get bigger!

the cocking lever did not feel as stiff as advertised, though the gun still is a pain to shoot off hand.i'll guess have to grow bigger biceps!

Nice looking TX200,Anand.Walnut?What scope is that?You can bring it with you when you come over here.We can have a mini competition. I use a peat bag leaned against wooden planks as a back stop.

after all the money i put into it,Vikram, you break my heart . Inder is spot on. it is a pro sport (note you cannot see the underlever), albeit with a beech stock. the scope is a battered , cheap 6X32 simmons which i discovered balanced better (for me) than the hawke MAP i mounted earlier.

mini competition? why not! i'd love to see what the venomised hw handles like.

Why not invest a few quid ( 10 to 12 at most ) in a pellet trap ( Gamo has excellent pellet traps ) and a few paper Air rifle targets.

With these prints you will be able to adjust your scope to perfection. Sighting in first at 10 m would make the rifle fairly accurate. The groups are good. These will get better by trying out a few other pellets. A few experimentations will determine which pellet suits your air rifle the best.

the yellow pages bundled together instead of a pellet trap is because of acoustic reasons. it's much quieter, does not risk alarming the neighbours. remember this is ye olde england..... a false alarm by the neighbours gets classified as a firearm incident against me and scuppers my shooting chances. pellet traps need jugaads like layers of carpet strung in them, cut to size, to hush the noise of pellet impact. a few argos catalogues work just as well, with a fraction of the effort!

Keep up the desi improvisation in this case.
