Hello everyone,
I am a new member to this forum. But i have been browsing through this forum for a long time. I always had a passion for shooting. Specially since i saw my father carry rifles when he served the Indian Army. But i have recently decided to pick up the hobby and purchase my first air Rifle. I have gone through the forum extensively and read through as many posts as i can. And i have decided to purchase the IHP 35 .22 Cal rifle as me and my dad will be using it for casual plinking at random objects in our private lands. Since i live in quite a remote area in North east India, I have decided to make the purchase through Aimco online as most of your members recommend. But since i am a completely rookie to this sport and dont know much about shooting, i would welcome suggestions from the experienced members of this forum about my purchase and some other tips if i need them. Also is Aimco the best website to purchase the rifle or should i look at some other rifles on relishsports? My budget is around the 7000 rs mark.
I hope i am not breaking any forum rules with this post and thanks to the admins for approving my account.

Hi,
For an experienced shooter or a Rookie I think a Precihole Airgun should be the only choice for a good off the shelf Indian air gun even though it is a bit more expensive than an IHP air gun. Currently Precihole air guns are the best value for your money. If you want a Springer stretch your budget a little and get an SX series Precihole in your preferred caliber. Better still stretch your budget a little bit more and get an NX series entry level Air gun. The difference between the entry level NX series gun and the more expensive models like Karbin, and guns with different finishes of the action like chrome plated ones and those with stocks with wood like finish are only cosmetic and all NX series guns are mechanically and functionally are the same.
As per AIMCO.CO.IN they are the only online suppliers of both Precihole and IHP air guns at the most competitive prices and their service standards are very satisfactory. You would receive your gun in less than 7 working days from the date you deposit the quoted price in their bank account provided the gun you order is in stock. Contact them by e-mail before you place your order and they would e-mail you all the details regarding the payment procedure and shipping details. Best of luck.
Regards.

I have a Precihole Orion and an IHP 35. The latter is a good choice if price is a criterion. In comparisons I have put up elsewhere on this forum (done by me) I have found IHP 35 to remain consistently accurate with a wider range of pellets than the Orion, which is a bit more powerful and refined, but finicky about pellets.

And I always point people to my introductory plinking video. Apologies to those who have seen it posted more than once

Thanks a lot for providing this valuable info. I have been looking at the Aimco website and i am inclined towards the Precihole guns too now. Hopefully i should be able to place the order on tuesday. But before i place the order, i have a question about the pellets. I am gonna be using it to shoot targets like empty tin cans, beer bottles. What kind of .22 cal pellets is gonna be most suitable for maximum impact or atleast to shatter a beer bottle. Flat, curved or hollow. And which is the best brand and the best place to acquire those pellets online as buying from a retail shop is not an option. And just 1 last question, what is the approx target distance i can expect the bullet to be accurate at if i purchase the NX100.

You can choose between, Precipell, GSmith and MasterShot export quality pellets (either flat or pointed). They are quite accurate and can easily shatter a beer bottle at 25 yards.

Precipell pellets are heavier and will carry a lot of punch even at longer distances.

With the NX-100, shooting at 35 yards is pretty easy. For longer distances since the targets might not be visible, you will have to use a scope with some holdover.

To shatter a beer bottle your best bet is Gsmith steel head. Do not, repeat do not shoot at an unopened beer bottle

Bad news - Only Precihole shoots GSmith best. Bit tight on IHP 35
