My first air gun - please suggest!

Dear All,
I am just a day old to this forum. One of my reasons to join the forum is to learn, share and exchange knowledge based on experience, research and reading.

I am looking for purchasing a new Air Rifle.

Purpose: Plinking, Target Practice, Tournament (may be in time)

Budget: Up to 15,000 INR

Need: Range (35-40 yards), Power (800+ FPS), caliber (prefer .22 - not able to decide between .22 and .25. I feel .177 gets inaccurate at long distance)

Would like to have a scope with the gun - preferably specially made for the gun.

Look forward to your suggestions based on your understanding, experience and knowledge.

My suggestion at that budget = Precihole NX 100 in .22 or .177. .177 is 800fps, has flatter trajectory and therefore more accurate at longer ranges (and shorter ranges). .22 at 600 fps also adequate at the ranges u mentioned. Also, since u mentioned tournament, all air rifle tournament is held only in .177 cal.

Thanks Anand! I am very inclined towards Percihole as well. Going by a lot of posts on review and performance of NX100, it does look like obvious choice.

I have had my eyes on a some good imported ARs (Hatsan, Benjamin and likes), however, I will have to get my basic paperwork ready before I could get one of those.

I am also thinking, since I cannot import a .22 (they only allow .177), it would be a good idea to pick the NX100 in .22.

I guess IHP M35s don't stand much in comparison here. Thanks much again.

:agree: Thanks Najad! Percihole it is.
However question that now presents itself is - which Scope would be more suited for NX100, and where could I procure it.

Thanks Briha!
NX series (as against SX series) are Nitro Spring powered ARs. I have done some reading about these, however, not very clear in most simple terms as to what and why the difference (in terms of power, life, range). Do Nirto Springs require any consumables later, like gas canisters or cartridges? Please suggest.

Thank you all for your taking time off to help.
I am hopeful of being a proud owner of a NX100 before the day ends tomorrow. :-)

However, still very keen to learn about the difference between SX and NX series in simpler terms (earlier posts got too technical for me I guess).

I own a NX-100 .22 and recently mounted a BSA Scope (4X32)

Power - Don't worry about it.

Life - 10000 shots

Range - 35 Yards (Can go further but accuracy takes a hit. With scope and a good firing position you can still hit beyond 35 yards)

Thanks Tiger! Reviews too look pretty rave for the BSA. Where can I buy it from?
I have been reading about Barska and BSA as two popular suggestions for a good Scope to go with NX100s. Any thoughts?

Once again, my sincere thanks to everyone here...
I am a proud owner of NX100.
Fired a few shots in the backyard. It does fire beautifully.
Looking forward to a lovely weekend ahead!

Cheers!

Congratulations on your Precihole :D. consider removing all factory lube from the barrel and the chamber, apply moly grease on all contact points and tightening all screws with a bit of loctite.
