Hi All,

Im Arun from Trichur, Kerala. This is my first post i believe though im not new to the forum. I've been a regular visitor for quite some time.

However, Im new into the world of air rifles. I have a Blanca air pistol for sometime though. That's all.

This GI 500 Air Rifle made by Gift Industries, Kolkata is any good? Anyone using it? Its priced around 6400 here in a local shop. It fires ok from small distances. Is it a good buy for a beginner like me? Please throw some light on this particular model. My use of this Rifle would be very very limited. Thank You

dear arun,
I have seen this guns from Gift Industries.
They produce in very high quantity and also make brands
for others.
Their receiver is not made of seamless tube which I did not like at all.
There are some good reviews of various other guns , that might
interest you as being better product.
Choice is yours.

Presently I have IHP National-25 SDB 45 Classic and a local 35.All are perfectly tuned.
I find SDB 45 is most accurate and smooth than others.

Go for precihole air rifles as first choice and good quality and variety or a IHP as second choice.Rest all are absolute crap .

Hello Basu,

I am thinking of buying a IHP 25 5.5MM model. I am opting for this IHP 25 model because of the lesser weight otherwise I will go for IHP 35 itself. I already have a Precihole Orion. As per the specs of IHP 25, its shooting range is 20-25 metres. I hope it can shoot accurately more than that range. As you own this model, at the max how many metres it can shoot accurately?

Thanks

Dear santhozp,
I have IHP National25 in 0.177.
For hours of plinking/shooting , nothing matches it.
It is light weight and has easy cocking.
I am not a target shooter but a plinker.
It delivers a velocity approx 530-550 fps , which is effective for 20 mtrs although I do hit target upto 30 mtrs.
The 0.22 version should be 100 fps less than that, may be around 400 fps in general.
This is a sweet and fine gun for young to old.
Its performance enhances with tuning.
You may love to have this gun.

I have to dispute the statement that all the others are absolute crap. I have a Precihole Orion, and IHP 35 and an SDB 65

The SDB is the most powerful of the three and is as accurate as the Orion. I have posted images of bench tests and Chrony readings on this forum as proof and am not making an empty statement here. The IHP 35 is the worst of the lot. This is the second SDB I have owned - I bought the brand again because I was supremely happy with the SDB 50 I owned earlier. I would rate the SDB brand as good as, if not better than IHP. Precihole has refinements that probably put it right on top among Indian brands.

Wish you really get a fine gun....
I prefer you to go for 0.177 , rather than 0.22, reason being , it is a low power gun and so it loves lighter pellets.
Pl.visit Gunsmithing sec.where you may find many threads about " tuning" , including mine.
If you follow them properly , it is a joy for ever.
Recently IHP has introduced Synthetic stock and synthetic breech seal , I am not too sure whether N25 has the same.

I was kind of happy with Aimco m300... good barrel, good accuracy, good power. Chronied a .22 at 560 fps. Stock nicely made with a cheek riser...even the muzzle is quite impressive with a muzzle brake.

Did you purchase it from a dealer? I am not finding it in Aimco website.

Ask Joy Biswas at AIMCO. Call him up. Little surprised with it too. Just checked the website...and you are right!
