Warm greetings to all..... Had queries and there is no better place than IFG to get answers .
My queries are:
1) Is it safe to dry fire an IHP 35 0.22?
2) does dry fire harm the gun in anyway?
3) If the rifle has been cocked without a pellet, is there a way to decock it without dry fire?

Dry fire is not suggested at any stage for any gun as it causes unnessary stress to piston seal, spring and dead end.
To uncock a gun , break the barrel then pull it down to maximum,hold the butt and barrel tightly then pull the trigger .
The spring gets decompressed ,latch the barrel at its position.

Dry firing will inevitably damage an air rifle in the long term. The piston is slowed down and even stopped for a moment before it hits the end when there is a pellet in the breech. Without a pallet the piston goes bang and hits the end of the chamber and some damage will occur every time this happens.

As Basu sys, it is easy to hold the barrel down in the cocked position with one hand, resting the butt against one's bofy wile the trigger is pressed to release the barrel which can then be closed gently without the need to dry fire.
