My ORION 22cal now fitted with a Gas Ram!

It’s a wish fulfillment come true - Gas Rams will soon be available in India!
PRECIHOLE had a few Prototype Gas Rams made & were getting ready to field test them and one was fitted into my Orion for testing.
I was truly amazed at the time taken to fit it – The Spring assembly was taken out and the Gas Ram inserted all in a matter of minutes at the PRECIHOLE’S factory!!!
I doff my cap at their foresight in designing the Orion / Pegasus in such a way that the process of removing the Spring kit & fitting the Gas Ram turned out to be like “Removing a pencil cell from a remote & putting in a new one”!!!

I put a little over 200 pellets with it using both 14gr & 15gr and the experience: turned out to be:

1. Smooth & Positive cocking
2. Crisp trigger release
3. No palpable vibration
4. Very short lock time
5. Consistency in velocity / accuracy

Shooting with a Gas Ram fitted Orion marked a welcome change & experience in the way the AR behaved.

Gas Ram comes with a capability to accept heavier pellets with ease & requires minimum maintenance as compared with Springers, thereby extending the life of the AR and providing loads of shooting pleasure!

I get a feeling that a lot of excitement is about to surface amongst the AR shooting fraternity – where / when / how etc. does one go about getting one….

Gas Ram will be a power booster for Pegasus to maintain its original velocity for longer period

Brilliant stuff. Great news indeed. Waiting for it to hit the market...

That is great news, can't wait to get my pegasus changed to gas ram.

I think he means dropped by 50 fps

Wow!! Finally a very good news for all shooters, no need of worrying about the time to take the shot after cocking, and also mainly about changing the springs regularly.

Any idea about the velocity of the gas ram ?

I mean the theoben gas ram in hw 90

I don’t think Precihole will make gas ram to boost the power above 12 ft-lbs mark & as I know DOC he will make sure that no one can easily increase the gas presser to increase velocity

Brihaji, by any chance is this Ram based on the Thoben design? I guess you know on what basis I am asking.
