I have tuned my new IHP rifle by dropping in a new tune kit.
And have made some test, like recoil test and accuracy test.
I have added a video on youtube.
Link is added below.

Please watch it and share your ideas.
Thanks.

Sathya please keep making videos. i like it.

I have only one comment about this one - in the part that checks accuracy. I downloaded the video and analysed the sound picture and if the range was really 25 yards then the muzzle velocity was about 1500 feet per sec using Audacity software. This can't be right. What was the actual range?

Dear bennedose,
I was using the AO of the scope as a poor man's range finder it was a click near 25 yards. So it was approx 25 yards.
I was shooting from the front part of my house to the back wall, And was not able to walk the distance in between straightly, Had to go through the house, And I had only one camera and had no person to hold it near the target so kept it on a window and zoomed it maximum. so the muzzle of the gun was heard directly.
In order to show the sound used my mobile near the gun to record the sound, the muzlle shot string was compiled and added to the target sound using movie maker :stupid: . It did take a hell lot of time to do it. Might have done a mistake in the attachment timing. Really Very sorry. :?
I dint ever think of someone using audacity to measure the velocity.
If you need i will try to send the actual sound of the muzzle and the target without editing.

Sorry again for the inconvenience.

Very interesting observation indeed :D
In my guestimate - considering the fps to be between 580 to 620 (since the AR has been tuned) using 14gr pellets - the distance should be anywhere around 45ft to 50ft.
Would appreciate Sathya's response to this....

Nooooo! This is not an inconvenience and I learn from these discussions and videos. Please don't take this negatively. Your videos are fine. It's just that I have become accustomed to making an estimate of the time taken between shooting and hitting the target and I can tell with reasonable accuracy whether the time to target is 0.5 seconds, 0.2 to 0.25 seconds or something less - around 0.1 seconds.

This is because I used to spend time analyzing the sound graph to calculate muzzle velocity after measuring the distance and became familiar.

"ch-tk" would be less than 0.1 seconds
"Ta-tuk" is 0.1 to 0.2 sec
"tuk-thuk" is 0.2 sec or more
"tuck--thuk" is 0.5 seconds or more

In the shooting range of KSRA the sound produced at 10 meters (air rifle) is usually "ch-tk" and I know the muzzle velocity there would be in the 600 fps range. In your video the sound is"ch-tk" . That would fit in with a target range of 45 to 60 feet (15-20 yards).

You both were right sir, today i tried to estimate distance with the help of a small tailoring tape, But it was something around 55 feets to 60 feets. (Even this is not a exact distance. because I was not able to walk in between the distance, there were many plants and goods in between. So even this is an approx value only. I am sorry)
So My range in the system was wrong so. because i used the scope as a poor mans range finder system. I regret for giving a wrong info sorry everyone. :(

Sathya don't worry about it. You are not deliberately trying to mislead. The scope by itself cannot give an acurate measurement. But you have an interesting problem - that is how to estimate distance without direct measurement in the absence of the usual tools. I like problems like this.

May I suggest one method? Open up Google earth and if you can see your house/place of shooting in the highest resolution and mark the length you can get an approxmate measurement. However if even one point is inside the house or under tree cover it won't work, obviously.

What I like about your video work is that your ideas are better than I ever had to make attractive videos - mostly better than any I have made.

Thank a lot sir,
I will try to manage all the problems which was made in this video. while making the next video. :)

Mean while : i have audacity software. But don't know how to estimate the fps of the rifle. Please can you guide me through.

Hi Sathya,
Since you have the 'Audacity Software' - Please contact IFGian "Basu" on his PM as he has good experience & expertise in this field.
Good Luck!
