Servicing a PIONEER Mark II Mod 27 - 0.22 air rifle

A friend of mine told me that he has a rusty old non functioning air rifle and I asked him if I could take a look. He gave me a seriously rusty and jammed rifle as in the images below. The rifle was bought by my friend's father and my friend is a Sindhi in his 60s whose father migrated from Pakistan - it is an old rifle, though I don't know how old.

I opened it up and found that the piston seal had degenerated completely and the nut at the end was jammed at the end of the barrel. Took me some effort to bang it loose. I then cleaned off excess dirt, sprayed WD 40 to remove anything else that would come off and lightly sanded off the ugly rust. I also washed everything in hot water with detergent, rinsed thoroughly and dried thoroughly and once again sprayed some WD 40 for good measure.

I let the spring be - I had made no promises about spring changing. I only bought a 25 mm leather washer and fitted it. I also made a new O-ring with a strip of leather obtained from a cobbler.

I then screwed everything back on and shot and the damn thing worked! Not exactly a 2000 fps snipers dream. But a modest 180 to 200 fps from light pellets

3.Lousy rear sight with quaint locking screws for the pivots

4. Showing off my O-ring with the smooth non rifled barrel visible. Leather dust near the lock

5. The whole rifle minus one stock fixing screw - that is missing. I could not put a replacement because even the thread on the metal was worn.

Does anyone know anything about this rifle brand?
