Hello all IFG'ians

I need some help with this scope http://dx.com/p/3-7x20mm-rf3-rifle-scope-8183

I recently purchased a Precihole sports Pegasus. I hope this is best scope for this rifle within 2000Rs range.

Is it good enough? Is it of good quality? How is service of dx.com?

But the real problem is that i am unable to make an transaction.
When I select pay by credit card :- it says invalid card or card refused.I even tried paypal option. I am very confused.

dx.com customers Please help me out with this. How did you guys made a transaction?

and my card [SBI debit card and the card is of silver coloured and written VISA on front side] works perfectly else where/online.

Questions to ask:

1. Is your air rifle a spring powered one?
2.If yes, is the scope you intend to purchase springer rated?
3.If not, the recoil will knock it out of zero very fast.

My opinion, looking at the scope, it does not look like a springer rated scope. You may need to check with the seller.

Question to you. Why do you need a scope on your air rifle?

Sorry as this is not the info you were asking for.

Best-
Vikram

The scope you ask about does not look like anything that will survive on a springer air rifle for a long time.
Look at Leapers/Centerpoint/UTG scopes they work well on a spring air rifle and will last you a long, long time. Also make sure you get a one piece scope mount.

Remember you cannot import a scope through international post or courier.

All the best.......

So
1) So I cant order at dx.com? the package will be coming from Hong Kong. But I saw in Internet that many Indians having scopes like this.
2) My budget on scope is 2000 Rs. And i still doubt whether it is required or not.
3) I also heard scope would be struck at foreign post office since free shipping is only done with registered post. and I cant afford to pay 700Rs. more for courier shipping.

All your questions were answered above. You have to factor in import duty too, even if the customs allow it through.

If you do not know what you are looking for and why, may be it's time to do a bit of research about suitable scopes. Have you read the info given above on the spring rated scopes? At $11 for the scope, probably the postage will be higher than the scope itself and it may not serve your purpose.

Some examples of springer rated scopes.

One last bit of advice, save your money for a better air rifle and then a proper scope.

These dx guys ship with "electronics" written on the package. I had got an even cheaper scope for SX100 Orion from them. Holds the zero "decently" (say upto 20 odd shots). But, I wouldn't advise anyone to go for it. Too much work in re-zeroing. Better to save up and go for a better one. Yeah, they cost as much as the Pegasus / Orion, but it's worth it!

Dont scrimp on the scope.
If you cant afford a decent one then practise using open sights till such time that you can acquire a good one.

Hi Yo Yo,
> Pl read the replies given by our fellow IFGians who are knowledgeable & experienced, carefully.
> The scope you have in mind is 'Useless' on your Pegasus, pardon me for being blunt :D
> If you cannot afford some of the recommended scopes then - Wait till you can afford it.
> Till such time practice with open sights and perfect your shooting skills.
> Incidentally here are a few brands / specs you should consider when buying a scope....
1. BRANDS
Walther / Hawke / Centerpoint / Leapers

2. While a 4 x 32 fixed magnification scope is ideal, variable powered scopes are also worth considering such as:
2-7 x 32, 2-7 x 40, 3-9 x 40

3. These scopes must be AR rated & must have AO adjustment, as otherwise the internals of the scope will loosen & get damaged.

4. You must also go in for a good mount that can withstand your Pegasus's vibrations - Suggest a Single Piece Mount, preferably UTG or BKL.

> Finally don't hurry going in for a scope at this stage - Practice with open sights & get a feel of the gun - Enjoy your shooting.
