Hi guys I am a new member so pardon me for any wrong info or words .
With that out of the way let me inform you that I have bought Aimco Model 200 .22 pellet air gun. Let me be very clear it is one of the heaviest weapon I came across.I was in the NCC and have handled and fired from various weapons and this one is as heavy as the SLR(FN FAL) assault rifle that armed forces used.I weighted it on a electronic scale(don't know if its correct method) the weight was 4.3 kg.The butt recoil pad was installed by me and is not the one that comes with the rifle .
Now about the effective range of the weapon. As my home is next to railway line in Bankura I had a lot of empty land to make my own range. With a max target set at 80 meters I easily hit my target from standing, crouching and lying postures.I shall be setting up target at even greater distance tomorrow to find the exact range of this rifle. I have also uploaded
a video in youtube an here are some pics .Oh and trust me any one who wants to buy a gun from aimco go right ahead I have been to Kolkata and bought the weapon from Joy Biswas In his shop at Esplanade himself they are legit.

congrats, nice gun. I have an aimco 300 underlever myself.they do make their guns a bit heavy, don't they? :) i am a bit curious about your NCC unit though, are you sure you have fired an FN FAL? I only ask because i know for a fact that in India at least we never had access to FALs! But then again not many people know that we have M16 derivatives and even PP90s for the army /SF either, it's a vast country after all. Isn't Bankura in WB India BTW? And welcome to IFG! :)

I was part of 53 battalion of WB & Sikkim Directorate and FN FAL is the version which is called SLR (Self Loading Rifle) And yes I shot That and Insus in 2009 army attachment camp at Kachrapara at Kolkata. And the Slrs are modified versions of Fals.

Hi! Yes you can attach scope on it or peep sight. To attach a scope you need to install a rail system that comes for rs 1100 and then you can attach any scope of your liking you can find all that you need at SARADA GUN HOUSE .Just google it tey have courier service.a word of caution though ,installing of long range scope is illegal in India. I wanted one too but Joy Biswas
the the seller of this gun warned me about the legal angle

do you mean the 1A1s? It's actually an unlicensed copy of the FAL. i was told it was the 1A1 or simply the A1s ...and that's what it was, simply A1...the best rifle ever! :D how did you find the insas by the way?

Yeah the 1A1s and right it is the best rifle good hold shooting stance on the rifle ,oh and the insus was not really our to shoot but we were present in the officers fitness tests which include shooting .And our C.O. authorized 3 of my fellow cadet including me to shoot 5 rounds but it lacked the punch of the SLR and I am not Criticizing but it lacked the accuracy as well. being the lite barrel it keeps throwing you of the target.

nah...just reversed engineer at ishapore. Never heard of a South African connection though...did you train on the L1A1 sterling as well? what a country we live in , eh mate? The crims get to pick the best and we are stuck with air rifles! Welcome to civilian life...you gonna try out for the army? Or you could do TA :D
by the way check out relishsports.com...it will blow your mind! Mind you can't buy anything without a rifle club membership but it's worth a look all the same...oh and about your m200...max is about 95 m...but at that range it probably won't even dent a can.so effective range is about 50m give or take a few. I am surprised you hit a target at 85m . You are pretty good . Why don't you try out for competitions? Check out your state rifle association. :)

The fact is rifle scopes are restricted to import
But Imported rifle scopes are available and widely used in India  they are not illegal as far I know, I am using one(chines one).
