I want to Buy IHP 4.5 or IHP 5.5 MM Air Rifle.
For Target Practice and Pest Control.

Which will be best suited for me,

for target practice 4.5mm ( .177)
for pest control 5.5mm (.22)

I suggest IHP 35 in .22

IHP .177 barrel is better then .22

I use my Pegasus .177 for pest control no problem at 50 yards

Friends I am again confused,
.177 or .22 for pest control..

In India only crow & rats is pest & with my experience .177 or .22 doesn’t make any difference. Important thing is hitting the pest (accuracy)
One thing is sure .22 is not allowed in competition

But final decision is yours

IHPs .177 barrel is better than .22
Indian make .177 pellets are better then .22 (pellets play very important role in accuracy)
Imported .177 pellets are cheap & easy to get
IHP is an medium power air rifle so .177 pellets have more flat trajectory than .22
use flat head or round head pellets don’t go for pointed one or heavier pellets

also consider that there is more variety and quality in .177 pallet than .22 , also later if you wish to go for any club you have to use .177

1.IHP national m25 airrifle 4.5mm
or
2.IHP national mode 35 in 4.5mm

IHP 25 is low power very good for Target Practice & competition which you are not going to do so go for IHP 35
Buy Master shot Yellow box flat head pellets from Aimco & do practice
Read the safety rules of guns & strictly follow it because air gun is not a toy

I use my sx100 Pegasus .177 for pest control as well as target practice. It is very good and accurate in both the avatars at approximately 10 meters. More or less the same effect and power as my IHP 35 .22.

Dear Avisek - both ought to be OK for Ranges in India - assuming you would take your AR there for prax. Remember only .177 cal allowed. However, hope this is an "entry level" and initial prax AR that you are looking for. Eventually you shall need to take up a good Peep sight AR if you persist in AR target shooting. Mastershot (yellow)/ gsmith work well with IHP ARs. Follow safety rules - in fact learn them by heart, as my instructor Vishwajeet Shinde would insist. Happy and safe shooting.

May i Know, IHP 35 .22 Air Rifle can be used in pest control like Big Rats etc,
we are having a farm house about 6acrs & this big Rats are spoiling our crops so can any one suggest me or share their experience regarding this.

Should i Purchase IHP 35 .22 or any other powerful Air Rifle for the Situation, Please suggest the long & powerful range of air rifle If any ??

It doesnt matter whether its 4.5mm or 5.5mm if its a hit in a kill zone the game is dead. But 1 thing u have to make sure that u are hitting your target that what matters.
