Indians For Guns

Hi,
I plan to get myself an IHP .22 (35 m) AR.. The initial cost of this AR and pellets fall within my budgets..
But after reading some of the threads in this forum, i have understood that it costs to maintain an airgun..

1) I have understood that an AR needs oiling for keeping it rust-free .. What will be cost of oiling for the gun(for a 1 year perod)..
2)Also, I have seen frequent use of the the term called Tuning the AR. What does Tuning actually do and Is this really required? What will I have to spend for Tuning my AR and how regularly does this model require Tuning..
3)Also what are the other costs that are involved in owining an airgun (ex. frequently wearing parts that needs to be replaced)
4) I might shift to a new location for 1 yr period in some 5 months time where I cannot carry my AR. So if my AR remains unused for so long will it develop any problems like rusting or will it unusable hereafter( P.Si can have someone at home who can oil my AR regularly)

Which threads are you referring bro.......I say you are mis-informed......

1) An AR needs a rub of an oiled rag after every use so that its metal finished is maintained and prevented from rusting.......Cost : Free....use some 2t or 4t oil from your/your friend's car/bike

2) Tuning Cost ?? Tuning is not essential to the IHP. 99% of the worlds shooters shoot their springers without tuning. But if you still buy the tuning hogwash (free, by the way), go ahead and tune your AR, ONLY IF YOU FEEL THE NEED TO TUNE Not because you read it here that it HAS to be done....By the way your IHP will smooth out on its own after 1000/1500 pellets are fired thru it. Its called break-in. Cost of Tune : Free....Do it yourself or come to me.......

3) Other Costs : None for a VERY long time......

4) In this case put an extra thin layer of oil on all the metals and store the AR in plastic bag

Great then.... Ill be booking one a week before i take my CAT Exam and hope to start shooting immediately After my Cat exam is done

Want some advice ? Postpone buy till you finish with your CAT exams....

Better, postpone till you finish your MBA. No institute will allow you to carry an AR on campus (if you go the hostel route). I know, been there, done that..... And with your first salary post MBA, you probably can afford the imported stuff!

yea, i have thought about about that , but there is a good 7 Months between my CAT exam and my B-School joining date

I agree. Go for your IHP right after your exam. Pursue your hobby whenever you have time...you never know how busy you'll get later.
