Sir, I do not find where is it written that air guns arent duty free. It only add that renowned shots, Nrai can import fire arms now.

Dear Mr Varunik,
Para 2 shows existing policy.
Para 3 shows the amendment.

Reddy is right,
As the amendment does not mention shooters registered with sports bodies/nrai, it means that we cant.
Fantastic!!
What great news for all the budding shooters of this country. The one facility we had to compete without any hindrance in any one shooting event has been snatched away.
I can hear the applause coming in for such a far sighted decision.

Para 3 does not mentions any thing about air rifles.
“Import of arms is permitted against a license to renowned shooters/rifle clubs for their own use on the recommendation of Department of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India."
So, if its against a license, 'arms' must refer to fire arms.
And in para 4, there is only mention of 'arms'
I might be wrong, but do tell me, as I am unaware, is there any license earned by renowned shots or a certificate ??
