Hi people..
Though I am not going to tell a very new story.. it happens every where in india..
the following is my experience.

I am an Air rifle shooter and fortunately / unfortunately have an imported Air rifle with interest to perform at international level.

I tried my level best to get pellets from every where. Just for that I applied for membership of NRAI. No idea when I will get membership.. I am waiting for that.

They don’t entertain postal orders assuming that all shooter are located at Delhi and can walk down at any time. And most of the time t is not available.

So some how I got the contact of a so called rifle dealer.. quite known face in Indian shooting. A senior person too.

After a couple of phone call and giving reference of one of my shooter friend, he told me that he will send me air rifle pellets ( Finale Match Air Rifle) and I paid the amount for the order of 30 tins.. I had properly reminded him that I need Air rifle pellets only.. ( more than 20- 30 times)

Days month went .. at last after 4 months he sent me Air Pistol pellets of RWS. When I sent him a SMS telling that I wanted Air Rifle pellets.. he told me “ use it .. it makes no difference .. when you will get 590 then we will think .. else sell it of at GVM or some where….. I also have rifle pellets.. you should have told me before.. ”

When I requested him to send his address so that I can return it back and get the Air Rifle pellets .. got no communication from him..

I am not sure what is the original price of the pellets. But at some club I found that Finale Match tin is Rs 300 and the dealer had asked me Rs. 330 .. ( its ok.. )

Any one has any idea what is the price of RWS Pellets?

But here I have few query..
1. Does every shooter face this type of problem ..
2. Is this allowed to Import Air Rile pellets for a shooter who is eligible to import Air rifle?
3. What is the difference in Air rifle pellets and Air Pistol pellets? ( except the weight is less) I will be glad if some one can explain me technically why the difference is there.
4. Does business means cheating? Or honest people should get punished?


If any one answers all the 4 queries I will be very happy.. at least for Q2 & 3 if some one can give his / her technical view .. I will be glad..

Can anyone import air pellets from abroad for sale in India? Or its only the rifle association and shooters who are allowed to get them for their their personal use.

Deepak, Sorry to know of your troubles.Don't let the rogue get away. I cannot help you with the rest,but, if it can be done legally,I can buy and post you all the pellets you want.Do let me know.

Please post the Name & details of this person here - at the very least he should be shamed in PUBLIC and others be made aware of his stunt, so they may beware of dealing with such an unscrupulous person in future!

Vikram, I doubt if you are allowed to send pellets to India via post...

Just curious Abhijeet. If air rifles can be posted,why not pellets?Any clause specified in the rule books.Their wisdom never ceases to stagger me.

No he isn't. Let's be very careful about who we name.

I am the one who introduced Deepak to this person. Whilst he is a businessman he has also shelled out from his own pocket for ammo (pellets, rimfire and centrefire), board and lodging for an entire state squad. He also helps the poor but does not talk about it. Besides I like him because unlike most (hypocrites) he makes no bones about the fact that he is doing this as a business.

To answer Deepak's questions:

1. Does every shooter face this type of problem?

You are amongst the lucky one's to have 30 tins in stock.

2. Is this allowed to Import Air Rile pellets for a shooter who is eligible to import Air rifle?

Only renowned shots are permitted to import pellets. However, they can be imported as part of your personal baggage. Not thirty tins though.

Other than the weight, there is no difference. Test one tin. If you don't like them, I and some other friends will buy them off you. For what it's worth, I used to shoot H&N Finale Match High Speed (pistol pellets) out of my FWB 603 match air-rifle and H&N Finale Match (rifle pellets) out of my Steyr LP10 match air-pistol, not because I did not have a choice but because they suited the rifle and pistol.

4. Does business means cheating? Or honest people should get punished?

If you think business is a gentleman's game then you are naive.

Rs.330.00 is Rs.20.00 cheaper than what he charged me and I'm his friend not some unknown face. NRAI will charge you the same for RWS or H&N pellets irrespective of whether they are meant for pistols or rifles. However, you have nothing to worry about, my friends and I will buy them off you if you want to sell.

That's your fault. I had told you that ammo is only given out in Delhi or at NRAI approved comps. Even state rifle associations have to send their representatives to Delhi to buy the ammo and you are aware of this.

1. He took so many days to get me pellets where he had told me that he has pellets and I should deposit money in to his bank account.
2. Always telling some plea and very rarely responded to my phone calls..

3. Forget about every thing else..
When I got the pellets.. I was very happy .. and sent him SMS
“ Sir.. I got the pellets.. thank you for your help.. but as I am a rifle shooter, finale match for rifle would have helped me more.. “
He called me .. and told me “ Aare .. pahle bola hota.. rifle pellets bhej deta.. bola kyun nahin.. wese.. yah koi fark nahi hai.. jab 590 maaroge tab yah sab dekh na.. . is bar.. use kar lo.. nahin to parshi bhai ko de dena.. wah le lege.. nahin to rakh lo GVM main bech dena“

I told “sir .. let me see.. else I will send you back”

He disconnected the phone..

I found that his address is not clear on the packet.. so can not send him back.
I SMSed him 2 times to send him his address.... yet to get any response.

I pay money and get the stuff.. stuff not available .. clearly return.. Say I can not give you..
if I am a new shooter.. how that matters..

I know how tough it is to earn money .. white money..


And Sir.. you only had told me that never ever use any other pellets in this rifle.. and how to maintain it..

Should I consider that a new shooter who has no rank .. never qualified in GVM .. has this value..

Favoring me by taking my pellets.. why? Yes. I need your favor always.. in learning shooting.. choosing right stuffs.. asking you for pellet when I don’t have a single.. .. shooting the best scores.. and your company to celebrate the success..

Sir you have only taught me that this is a technical game and there is some science / physics behind this game.. I just heard.. that the composition of pistol pellets are softer than rifle pellets.. because rifle pellets are more exposed to friction.. ( not sure )

Yes I am lucky to have 30 tins.. I also had 20 tins of P10..
All were telling purchase P700 wooden stock.. But I wanted the best.. and got alu stock.

Every day some or other person goes to USA Germany from my company.. I can request them .. but I never do because .. I know how differently they look at you when you explain.. that they will not be caught at some airport as terrorist..

If only renewed shorts are allowed to import .. then yes.. I have to be one..

Honestly speaking I don’t like offending that person.. I posted this because I was sad and because of that I was loosing my concentration.

I requested Vishwajeet shinde 10 times to send me target changer and stand,. He never sent .. I made myself

Screen printing people acted crazy to print my target.. Now I print myself.. I have enough which I can use till November.

There are so many business people in IFG. How it will be to start some good accessory store for shooters.. ?
Like pellets.. targets, cleaning stuffs.. and all that..? just a web site to put picture and an email id will work more than enough.. but should support sports people .. as they regularly need this..

Just surprised.. why it is so easy to loose our honesty in India.. ? the rifle dealer from whom I had purchased my stuffs in US gave many thing in a very cheaper price even after knowing that the export price list of anschutz shows higher than that what he is offering..

I still wish the dealer should think again before doing such with people.. you are paid for yuur service.. then to to cheat..?

And I too had told about this to NRAI.. they at least listen how shooters face it..

We don’t get pellets..
That’s the point..

And honestly speaking I was knowing that he is going to do that.. still I asked his address just to see he did it knowingly or he was not aware of me a air rifle shooter..

Speaking truth is a problem here? i never knew...

Why don't you use gsmith pellets ? It will cost you Rs 110/- per tin. I have used them and they are quite accurate on the target. I have bought 15 tin of gamo magnum from dubai in 2002 and at that time it cost me Rs 90/- . Last month my cousin bought 10 tin of H & N Diablo, gamo pro magnum, gamo hunter for me and it cost Rs 120/- per tin. You can very easily get imported pellets in state rifle clubs in decent price and you can also get it in kanpur between 200 to 250 Rs.
