please help me buying my first air rifle:jimmy aimco cannon
i live in kolkata and planning to buy my first air rifle but am totally confused among the models available:
aimco m200 (is it rifled or smooth bore)
jimmy 200 underlever smooth bore
cannon 65
my budget is around 5000/-
my purpose is fun @home therefore i want the most powerful of the lot. the gun should be well finished and should be a full length rifle. any suggestion from the well informed community would be very helpful at this end.

Dear brahmstra,
Cannon 65 and 35 has same engineering . Only difference is that 65 has more cosmetic look.
It is a very good gun. In case you think only paper punching and plinking upto 20 yards, then
National -25 could be other option.
As far my knowledge goes ,Jimmy makes only rifled bored guns.

I haven't seen an uglier gun than the Canon lg65. Jimmy and Aimco guns looks great. However performance wise I would suggest you to go for IHP 35 as it is lighter and will last for a life time..brahmastra wrote:thanks to all of u guys for yur suggestions

IHP 35 is better than Canon LG 65 in performance and good looking rifle .one of my friend use IHP 35 .22 for 11 years. it gives good accuracy till now.He change the mainspring only before one year
I have canon Lg 23 it looks good, i works good for four years after four years trigger slip occur( i roughly handle that gun )and recently i changed the trigger http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=15498
i think canon LG 23 is not in production now, it is the best gun for young shooter
My friend having Canon LG 65 power and accuracy are closely nearer to the IHP
but stock structure and finishing is superb in IHP
i suggest you to go for IHP 35 .22

Re: please help me buying my first air rifle:jimmy aimco can
none of u are talking about the aimco m200. how is that gun?
most of the post and reviews i found about this gun (in this forum) are pretty old they date back to the year 2008-2009. at that time the gun had the problem of loosing power after 100 shots.
at that time aimco was producing both m200 and m300. but now they have stopped producing m300
and their main flagship model now is the m200.
a more recent buyer of this gun has commented (in this forum) that now the gun is pretty consistent. it is not loosing power even after 500 shots and its accuracy is near to that of ihp. he also commented that he is hitting targets at 60 mtrs. !!!! i have a strong gut feeling that aimco is now concentrating more on this gun since m300 is out (but don't know why)
therefore i would really appreciate if any of the recent buyer of this gun can shed some light about its out of the box
performance (both power n accuracy).

Re: please help me buying my first air rifle:jimmy aimco can
ok guys thanks a lot for yur support n time....................
it seems i have to buy two guns in that case, aimco m200 for its looks n the good old ihp mod 35 .22 for its performance!!
but honestly i don't like the stock design on the ihp, it seems they won't change it for eternity !!!!!!!!!!!
i guess they (ihp) don't have the skill to produce a new design. its the same design till the world ends!!!!!!!!!!!
sorry if i sound a bit rude to ihp lovers........

> Aimco m200 has one of the best stock design. You live in Kolkata, right? Why not visit aimco and see the guns..
> While I am frustated about IHP not improving looks wise, its also true that they have made changes(not cosmatic) over the span of time and we have to praise them. About the stock, they have changed the design of the cheek rest..
>Dont forget IHP is an govenment organisation, where progress comes slowly ...
