Maccari ZRT kit / 350 pro mag spring.....

if forum members have installed either the JM ZRT kit and tesla seal or just the pro mag drop in spring in their 350 magnums, i would be very interested in the results of the tune.

has there been a increase/ drop in velocity?

how does the tesla seal compare to the oem diana seal?

smootheness of action and shot cycle??

fps achieved with the heavier g smith pellets with stock spring and after installation of kit/ pro mag spring.

any other kits/ springs that have been used...vortek ; titan springs ; v mach kits.....on the 350 magnum.

regards.

Why don't you write to Lloyd at http://airgunbuyer.com and ask if he has any V-Mach FAC kits for the Diana 350 Magnum? If they have them, I'd suggest you look no further. A V-Mach FAC kit may lower the power the power somewhat, but you will end up with a much smoother and more accurate air-rifle. The 350 Magnum in stock trim is somewhat of a harsh shooter and a good tune kit will certainly help smoothen it out.

Cheers!

thanks Abhijeet...checked the site. they do not have anything for the 350, but will write and check out.

you are right in stock the 350 is a harsh shooter, i did take it apart and with molly, deburring and lubing of joints it has become very smooth.less recoil and viberation. a must for any 350 owner to get the true potential.

i am really looking for a good spring to handle the heavier pellets. right now the diana oem spring is holding up well, but just looking at options.

the oem diana seal, i believe can match up to the best available in the custom market.

Mercury, while I am no expert (others here hold that distinction) - IMHO in stead of looking for a spring to match up to heavier pellets, you should be looking to make your rifle as accurate as possible; even if this means sacrificing some power.

absolutely Abhijeet...no arguement there. in a springer, depending on calibre 600 to 800 fps would be ideal and i have two other springers that are excellent out to 35 yards.

the 350 is not a power trip, but i want to zero it at 50 yards with as flat a trajectory as possible. honestly i am surprised at the trajectory the oem spring gives and trying to get a match with other options that forum members with 350s have tried.

sure, i have had the g smith high split/ high impact pellets embed themselves in hard wood at 100 yards....very impressive power wise...but will not mention group sizes!!!

to me 50 yards with the 350 is my limit , not looking at accuracy beyond that. and if i can get my hands on jsb exact...14.5 gn/16gn life will be so much easier. this is a great gun and tuned right..even a good home tune... is capable of higher performance in better hands

Accuracy at 50 yards is a reasonable expectation, a flat trajectory at that distance is not. Why else would FT shooters zero scopes for varying distances. It is part of the joys of airgunning to estimate bullet drop, with and without wind.

Mercury, you can mail Steve Pope from V mach directly who can advise you on availability. He used to do jobs for estoeric things like the Fwb124/127. Better still, with the falling price of phone calls, you can ring Steve who is always happy to talk.

Maccari, if available, would be an excellent alternative. I must warn you Jim is picky with his e mail responses and does not suffer fools. Go over his website carefully, do not pose questions on what he has written already and be concise and clear with what you want. His turnover and service is excellent.

thanks hamiclar01, i did write to v mach and am awaiting a reply. will call Pope ( he has been around for ages...was it venom custom rifles???) too for more details.

i do understand that hold over would be neccessary at 50 yards...just trying to minimise it as far as possible.

maccari is available iin Bombay but as Kanwar 76 points out, vortek has been making waves with not just diana owners but with all makes of air rifles. the PG2 kit for the 350 is an absolute hit. and i did get in touch with vortek and Tom Gore was very patient and helpful....can spring kits make it through customs without a hassale???

any body here tried a vortek PG2 kit or is it available here in India?? Bangalore?????

hamiclar01, you are right about maccari. heard about a friends experience. very professional and direct.

Katna ... by "tuning" do you mean a strip guide for a home lube or installing an after market kit ??

you could use this guide for a strip / home lube or installing an after market kit ( Vortek in this case ). its for a M34, T06 but the only difference is the 350 has an articulated cocking rod which makes it very easy to remove the barrel if your spring compressor is not long enough.

http://www.network54.com/Forum/184474/t ... TO6%29+.22

this is another with a comparison with home lube / Vortek kit / different piston seals.

http://www.airgunforum.ca/forums/topic40665.html.

i use this very simple tool to debur the action .....NOT THE CHAMBER ....(.pvc pipe that fits.....make a slit on the pipe/ roll on emry )

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v734/ ... rhone3.jpg

there is this very lengthy video on the HW......part 2 of which is applicable to any air gun...on lubing the internals....

PART 2

the 350 ( as any Diana ) is a very easy gun to work on. i have the Vortek PG2 on my 350...great kit. JM has discontinued the ZRT kit and sadly V Mach has no kits for the 350.

hope this helps.......
