Hi friends,
I recenctly bought a IZH 46M match air pistol. The grip on the pistol is uncomfortable to hold for long time.
I learned that the grip can be customize to mach the users hand.
Can someone kindly suggest where it can be done. I reside in mumbai.
DIY is not an option for me.
Thanks in advance for your valuable time and input.
Regards.

I would suggest that you explore DIY. It after all has to fit your hand, a simple way is to use a rotary tool with sandpaper on one of the wheels. You can use a dremel or a rotomac or even a normal drill. Work slowly by first deepening the grip insertions that have already been made. Just thin down the part where your web of the hand meets the wood. That will make a big difference. In fact you can use coarse sand paper to begin and then move to a finer grade. It is not a difficult job do it at your own pace and you will be quite happy with the result.
You can also buy ready made grips online but the cost almost 3/4ths of what the pistol costs.

Try sending a mail to
http://gunforglory.in. Have them added on facebook. Read recently that they do have someone to work on grips. All the best.

@ Dev…sorry to be going offtopic. Does Rotomac manufacture a rotary tool similar to the Dremel? Any pointers to its performance, pricing and availability would be appreciated. I did try their website but, was unable to locate the tool or maybe I was not looking in the right place.

Yup it is like the dremel but the battery charging thing is a pain. If it was direct plug in, it would be much better. Price was around Rs.1200 or Rs.1500 IRC. I believe the dremel tool can be found in a good hardware shop or try buying it off ebay.

Dev

Many thanks for the Inputs Dev. I did have a look at the Dremel but, did not want to invest 4 – 5 K as my usage is very limited and hence was checking on some cheaper but decent alternatives. 1200-1500 is decent pricing…but, I am in two minds since you mentioned about the battery thing.
BTW do you have a link to the Rotomac tool?
Best.
