Importing scope

hi friends,
i am planing to go srilanka for tour. can i buy scope for my air rifle and bring with my personal baggage.
Is this possible?

Yes you can bring it. Do not mount the scope on the gun or present it together along with with the gun to customs. Keep both of then seperately packed. If kept seperate then scope is considered as just an optical device.

my air rifle is in chennai, i want to bring scope & scope mounts from srilanka to chennai through flight.
can i bring pellets and darts for my .22 air rifle with my personal baggage

Then bringing in scope should not normally be a problem. But not sure about pellets or darts, may read this thread http://indiansforguns.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3481. It is mentioned one may bring in 2000 pellets and customs officer may confiscate a larger or even lesser quantity than this number. It's entirely on your luck. If one searches for 9305 under Chapter 93 at http://compendium.iift.ac.in/ it appears (pellets)ammunition for air guns are most likely a restricted item.

bringing scope with scope rails create any problem or not?
if any officers asking about scope what should i tell?
