Anschutz Hakim
Does anybody have an Anschutz Hakim .22 bore? Has anybody seen it or fired it? Any comments on the same would be great? Looking for this air rifle myself.

I have one. Seems adequate for our squirrels, our Number 1 pest. Don't like the the additional stuff they stuck on to make it look more like a Hakim, though. What in particular would you like to know?

Yes Vikram, I am talking about that gun. Another link to view some good pictures of the same: http://www.network54.com/Forum/405945/t ... ing+airgun
TwoRivers, I want to know about its power, acuracy. I am into collecting vintage air arms. What do I have to look for if I need to refurbish its operating mechanism... any tricky parts? Will it operate good if I give it more powerful springs like Ox springs ? Will i loose accuracy if I use powerful springs. I experienced the same when I used an ox spring on BSA Meteor Mark 5. The recoil increased and accuracy went in for toss. Wonder what spring will work best for it.
Where do you stay TwoRivers? I wonder if you would be willing to sell your Hakim if I am interested?
Also Vikram, is it possible to import a .22 cal if the gun is antique and low power as all these guns like Meteor, Webley MK3 and so forth or does it still fall under import restriction?
Is there anyone in India who owns a Anscutz Hakim?

Re: Anschutz Hakim
Sumanngon: Wish I could answer your questions, but all I have done with the rifle is used it some for target practice when my son was in his early teens, ended the career of a few squirrels, and took a grouse or two with head shots. Never took it apart, or chronographed it. It certainly is adequate in power and accuracy. It is just the big underlever Anschuetz dressed up as a "Hakim". We slipped on a peep sight, should still have the original open sight.
Fairbanks, Alaska, is what I call home. That would make selling you the rifle difficult, if not impossible. Will chrono it whenever I do some other loads, and let you know. Right now is a busy time, just before the snow flies.
