The Airforce Talonp.
Airforce has released new Talonp air pistol, which is pcp and said to be producing an amazing 760 fps, with a muzzle energy of 50 ft/lbs.
Manufacturers say velocity is in between 500-1000fps.
I want your expert reviews,
1.whether a pistol can be this powerful
2.Range will be same as rifle or not.
3.If so, then is it better to buy a pistol than a rifle.

Also where do we find .25 caliber pellet in India? BTW would it pass the dead wood test?

Everything else being equal, I prefer shooting a rifle over a pistol especially at ranges of over 25 yards. You may prefer it otherwise but "in general" it will be easier to learn to shoot well with a rifle and then transfer your skills to pistol.
Do not get me wrong, I enjoy shooting pistols but if I had to pick which one would be first it would be the rifle.

I second Mark's opinion.
In a self defense situation, a pistol is only a stop gap measure so you can get to your rifle.

If a person is fortunate enough to have a 25 caliber air rifle, Lee is now making a .240 buckshot mold that should work well for casting round balls, which in turn are pretty accurate (in my experience with blackpowder rifles).
Here is a link:

I have no relationship with either Lee or Midsouth, just that I think they are both good companies.

Thanks for the info xl_target but would we Indians get hold of the mold easily. I mean would customs clear it easily? Hell, I won't be surprised if they call it .25 caliber canon ball

it is hunting pistol rather then the target pistol. so do not expect making one inch groups at 50 yards, that you can do with a condor. but for hunting up to about 25 yards it is devastating.
