Gentlemen,
I found this .22 H.Weihrauch Sportwaffen air rifle in my Brother's attic. The rifle has no rear sight. The condition is okay since it has not been used for long. Can anyone suggest where it can be serviced in Chennai and also if a scope instead of a rear sight can be fixed on to the rifle. Any advice on this subject will be of great help. Iam also enclosing a few phots of the rifle

Wow, you are one lucky dude. Forget the rear sight and mount a scope on it. Take the rust off with some oil and a rag, normally gear oil is pretty good for removing rust, don't let any go inside the rifle.

Lube the innards with moly grease and silicon oil. Shoot some pellets.

Regards,

Dev

Hi RKS,
> You are very lucky to have found a virtual treasure!
> The HW77 is one of the first - and finest - underlever field target rifles ever made. Born in the famous Weihrauch plant in Germany, it has been a popular rifle for decades.
> Even if you're not a field target enthusiast, you'll enjoy shooting this rifle! It's great for plinking, shooting paper targets, and accurate enough to do some serious pest busting. Hunting small game and eliminating pests are easily handled by the HW77. The Monte Carlo stock has a raised cheekpiece, and the hardwood stock has a checkered pistol grip. It's capped with a rubber buttpad to give you ultimate control.
> The best part is the Rekord trigger, which is praised by shooters and admired by competitors, adjusts to your needs. The 11mm grooves in the receiver make it easy to mount a scope. If you like the simplicity and ease of shooting a spring-piston gun, it's the HW77 all the way.
Cheers & congratulations

Any advice on where to secure the scope in Chennai? or where I can find the specs for the scope? since I can ask someone to bring it from overseas.

Hi RKS,
> You could go in for Scope Brands such as 'Walther' or 'Bushnell' - but remember to ask for 'Air Gun Rated' scopes with mounts, with AO (adjustable objective)
> The power can be either -
1. 4 x 32
2. 3 - 9 x 40 this is a variable power scope
> If someone can get it for you from abroad - fine or you may contact IFGian 'Rijo Joseph' through his PM. Infact I got a Bushnell 4 - 12 x 40 from him a few months ago. Good Luck!
Cheers :D
