Want to buy a decent .22 air rifle

Hello,

I am new to this forum and I am passionate about Air Rifles and target practicing. I have inquired in Madras Rifle Club and they have asked me to contact them after 20th of August. Before I contacting them, I would like to purchase an decent .22 Air Rifle. I read few of the threads and tried aimco but it says IHP35 is out of stock. Also, I tried out for .22 rifles in chennai they quoted 17.5K for an ESA rifle and 11.5K for Power.

But my dad informed me those guns never worth the price. So Kindly let me know where I can get a nice rifle for me to learn shooting.

check our sales section there are lot of imported guns available.if you are a beginner a diana 35 .22 will be ideal.it's worth the money.keep reveiwing the sales,don't rush.good luck

Before you decide to buy any .22 air rifle indian or imported kindly make up your mind as to what you intend to do with it, you want to practise it with at a shooting range or would be happy with killing cans empty bear bottles (of course an adequate back stop is required), if you are interseted in the former then .22 would be of no use to you as you will not be allowed to use it on any rifle ranges as .177 is the only recognized caliber for shooting sports in India and field shooting is not indentified as a sport here, so for target practise only .177 and that too a decent pcp or a CO2 rifles are recomded with a caution of killer prices in the market.

If you just want to have a kick with it go for an Indian made springer the imported ones even the break barrel springers are above Rs 50000 on an average.

I can understand that the feeling of holding something that looks like a weapon is on our minds thats why we always long for imported airpistols or rifles because of their build quality and performance and not the Toy gun type of traits usually our Indian make air rifle carries, for that you can compensate with a few bells and wistles such as a scope rail or a picatiny rail barrel mount with a laser flashlight combo, or a red dot scope etc, that can give you a feeling of gratification, if this is the reason you look forward to.

Your choices in India are very limited. If you can, then import a springer or a multi-pump pneumatic like a Benjamin Sheridian by Crosman. Or even cheaper a qb78 from either Archer airguns or Mac1airgun. But with shipping and all you will burn about Rs.10,000 or so. But these rifles are nicer to shoot, even in their .177 avatar. My recco for a Co2 or Multi-pump is cause they will knock out the same power without the weight and the awkwardness of a
springer. They also have zero vibrations and recoil and are easier to connect with the target, plus even a cheap scope will last on them.

Thank you for the information and I checked the mac1airgun and few other online, found really interesting. But Am I eligible or permitted to ship one to india from them?
Do I have any protocol should I need to follow? I found in other threads that one should be a Rifle Club member to import an air rifle.. Kindly throw some light on this please?
