Ladies & Gents - I've just bought a Walther Dominator PCP .177 Airgun, and can't seem to charge the PCP cylinder - Much appreciate any advice - Shoot Safe - Thanks - Mrityunja

Can you please elaborate. How are you charging it? What is the specific problem?

I've tried an oxygen cylinder used for welding, its gauge was reading 150 psi - Is that too low? - Thanks

PLEASE DO NOT USE OXYGEN TO CHARGE YOUR PCP. OXYGEN WITH SEALS/GREASE IS GOING TO BE COMBUSTIBLE. ONE BANG AND IT'S ALL OVER.

I am using caps lock and shouting here as I am afraid you are going to lose you life, and eye or a limb, never mind the gun. There is a picture floating in airgun forums of a blown up air rifle which was charged with oxygen.

Please either use an appropriate scuba tank, or an air rifle pump to charge your gun to the recommended pressure

Thanks Ravi - To repeat my self, would it be okay to use another compressor filled with ambient air, such as compressor used for a hydraulic jack...

please take hamiclar01's advice/warning very seriously, NEVER try to charge oxygen. i also have a dominator and i suggest you take the cylinder and the adapter to your local shooting club and they will charge it to 300 bar, you can use the pump and charge it to 250 bar and still use it. i havent seen a pump that can go upto 300 bar. Please read the manual to understand your pcp or look for information on line.


PS, i wonder how someone can sell you a pcp without telling you how to use it or rather how you bought it without asking him how to go about charging it

u seem a newbie to pcps. get an experienced guy to show u how to charge with a scuba tank as the valve has to be opened gradually. best go to manufacturer website and see how. also google search on filling pcp with oxygen and see the pics of resulting carnage.

Go for a manual pump to begin with. Get a Hill Pump or something else that is reliable.
Once you are acquainted with the technacalities, u could move on to a scuba tank.
Plenty of vendors on the site, so obtaining one should not be too difficult...

i own a dominator .22 rifle,and have been using hand pump to fill in.its a kind of excercise i feel.never tried the scuba tank.good luck.

Hi @Mrityunja did you finally figure out how to fill up/ charge your Walther Dominator? I guess Al Sayad don't have the hand pump stock with them currently. I called and asked them for the same plenty of time, so that I can buy the same PCP. If you got any pump then let me know where you purchased it.

if Im not mistaken - It can be filled up at your local gas station ( i mean petrol & not Indane ) with the air tyre filling compressor using an adapter.
