Hi
I am looking for a simple electronic trainer for home use. I dont want to use SCATT because it is very expensive and provies a lot of extra data which I dont need.
I want a simple electronic trainer which just shows me the location of shot on the target and nothing more.
Do electronic targets allow dry training?
Any thoughts comments etc...
Thanks
Regards
Gaurav

buy a small electronic surveillance system with camera and digital 8 - 10" screen.. It costs about Rs. 2000/- beats having to walk over to the target everytime if you dont have a target pulley system.

If thats all you want to do then use a digital camera. Point it at the target and its screen, even at 4x zoom, will tell you where your shots are hitting. I use a pair of 10x21 mini binocs for the same....

digital camera is a cool idea, if you will mount red laser (green too powerful for indoor) on rifle camera can give an idea how your impact point moved, before shot.
same camera coupled withs scope and IR laser designator can be used as perfect night vision scope.

ok let me rephrase my problem
1. I will do dry fire testing
2. I wanna see the location of hit as i see in SCATT
3. I dont want detailed analysis like SCATT
4. I will not fire dry rounds

if you want functional system then buy Scatt you cant get better and cheaper system. Plus you can load in your Scatt files of best shooters in the world, like Bindra and other and compare your shooting to their.
with Scat in one year you will be as good as it will take 3 without Scatt.

I am totally agree with subal. Just for point number one they system will become too complicated, cause dry fire is recorded by a tiny sound sensor and laser diodes attached to barrel are recording the position of shot placement at the time of click sound. This is pretty complex mechanism and needs to be accurate to give you proper shot position . which cant be done easily .
if you want to minimize the hassel for checking your target by physically inspecting it , or for point 2-4 you can use a Video Camera with full zoom at the target and mounted on a tripod or a survillance system like Jonah suggested. Otherwise its better to buy a full system like Scatt, Rika or Noptel. In Fact I was thinking of making a poor mans scatt for quite long time. but after doing a little bit research I found it will be not that easy specially if you want to have dry trainning features with sway and traces calculation on it.
In case you found a better alternative do let us know. Because there are many among us who will be interested to have a alternative system within budget. As of now I use a Sony Camcorder to record my shot placement , 10 shot group. And later I can view each shot placement separately for analysis.
