Hammerli has a basic model pcp the AR20 which is an entry level peep sight. Would cost you around 45k. Here is the link to the page. http://www.carl-walther.de/index.php?co ... oduct=1385

You are welcome kuwar. The price in Europe is 580 Euro, so would work out under 45k if you import it yourself.

LG30, FWB500 and FAS AR611 are also good options. I am looking at the FAS because its lightweight...

As an example of overcoming adversity, Karoly Takacs has few peers. He was part of Hungary’s world champion pistol-shooting team in 1938, when an army grenade exploded, crippling his right hand. Ten years later, having taught himself to shoot with his left, he won two gold medals in the rapid-fire class.

Kuwar,

I read about your reservation in not wanting to buy an Indian made airgun. Try to shoot with the IHP pcp once before taking a decision. It is not something great but not bad either. A little bit of tweaking would really help. Not a bad bargain at the end of the day.

I shot in the May 2011 MAWC with the IHP 10mtr PCP match rifle. There were two others who shot with it as well. It is capable of 90% + scores. The IHP gun is capable but has a waiting period of one year plus from ordering to delivery.

You might want to add the FWB700 basic and Junior to that list. Research is ongoing....

Walther LG 400 Alutec Expert

AR 20 is a very very bad gun if you want to check it out I can put you in touch with the Walther rep in India from AFL.

FF,

Have a look at the IZH-MP532. Looks very outdated but have read quite a few reviews where it is rated very highly. A no nonsense and rugged starter airgun.

can you please elaborate more on AR20, what problems with this rifle?
I just today advised to one friend to go for this rifle, so your message sounds very alarming :(

gverma,

The OP has asked for a starter air rifle which he wants to be inexpensive.
What is really wrong with an AR20 ? The Walther rep in India from AFL should really elaborate on that.

Prabhath,

That one does not have an adjustable butt plate and cheek rest. It can't be customised for shooters and at 9.6lbs its very heavy.

Hi
These are the issues I have found with AR 20 after using it for some 10 min

I dont think any official rep of Walther will say anything bad about this gun

1. The gun is mostly plastic
2. There is no concept of left hand and right hand gun and the grip is very small and rough
3. The butt plate cant be adjusted and infact it was hurting me
4. The clicks on the rear sight are not accurate and linearly graded, infact they were irratic
5. Trigger is very hard, and will spoil your aim
6. The workmanship as you will see is that of a toy

I dont see any reason to buy AR 20 over an IHP gun.

AR 20 comes as a complete kit with jacket and other things (if you want to buy the whole set) so while I am giving my feedback about the rifle let me also talk about the rest of the kit

1. The jacket / trouser is as thin as a t shirt
2. Shoes hurt and most of them dont have a nice flat sole
3.Cut glove finish is far from what I want
