I have just ordered a Steyr LP10 which should be here within the next 4-5 days, was wondering if there is anything specific to be done before using it for the first time or can it be used straight out of the box?

You will need to do a whole bunch of things
1. You will have to set the grip, which means that the grip if wooden would have to be sawed or added with more wood to fit your hand - Would recomed to get someone to help you with this one
2. Ensure that the cell is installed
3. Once this is done doe some dry fire with it
4. Next goto range fill in air and take all the keys which come with it
5. Fire and zero the site which will include fixing rear and fore sight - again I am no expert in this and people in range will be able to help you.

Read all the instructions in the Owners' Manual that come with this shooting system several times. When you are totally satisfied and well versed with it, read it once more and begin the shooting process, as told by gverma. Good Luck. and Congrats.

@manu
Dear Manu,
After a lot of online research I came across this online store by the name of Stopper, which is based in Germany and here is the link to their website: -
http://www.stopper.de/ They have a very extensive product range and pricing is better than most websites. The prices listed on the site include 19%VAT which multiplied by .84 would give you the price you would need to pay (without VAT). They accept payment via VISA International card for which they charge an additional 4% of total invoice value or you can make a bank transfer in which case an additional Euro 20 would be charged by their bank. They are very prompt in shipping and packing is excellent. They ship via DHL packet/parcel service and DHL Express. DHL packet/parcel service like USPS is a postal service which is routed through Indian Postal Service whereas DHL Express is a courier service which is almost 5 times more expensive but you would receive your parcel in 48hrs. If you ship an air pistol/air rifle via DHL Express please send all documents for clearing through customs in advance to the web store and ask them to clearly instruct DHL about clearing it duty free as DHL Express seems to override the customs regulations about taking an authorization from the consignee therefore not giving you an opportunity to provide them with the documents which in turn means you will have to pay duty. Also as soon as you receive your airway bill no. call the DHL Express helpline and inform them of the same.
If you do decide to order from this website and need any help from me do let me know and I can provide you with further information.
@shadow
Dear shadow,
Thanks and congrats to you too. I will PM you my no. Also here is the link to the webpage of videos put up by Steyr which I am sure you are aware of but is for the benefit of others who may read this and are not aware.

@ckkalyan
Thanks ckkalyan. You are right about the pistol being a beauty. It’s been almost a month since I got it and the only adjustments required were to the grip as with a normal hold the front sight was towards the right and to the rear sight as it was shooting a bit high with a sub 6 aim. I am not too sure about putting up pics of me shooting but can surely put up the pics of the pistol if you like?
Regards,

No Offense to anyone , but I just check LP 10 price on the said site
http://www.stopper.de/, I still think this price is pretty much on the higher side. (1310 Euro). I dont know what preventing you guys ordering from shimon or indianshooting. Infact they are offering Styer LP10 at the price of 1100 Euro (Including Freight Charges) which is really a very good rate in compare to other sites. The clearence formalities will be almost same in both cases.
Decession is yours , This is just my two cent.
P.S , Indianshooting never mentioned me that the rate they provided to me is confidential and should not be disclosed , hence I dont think I am not violating any policies here by disclosing their prices. The mentioned price in their website is different than what they sent me in email.
Below is the exact email I got from them , I just suppress the sensitive details here
We offer Indian shooters Steyr LP 10 Air Pistol with freight charges for
Euro 1100.
Incase of items from Steyr we also charge a handling fee of Rs. 3000 which
needs to be made by bank transfer in advance.
Our bank details:
ICICI BANK LIMITED
A-194,OKHLA INDUSTRIAL AREA Phase-1
NEW DELHI-110020
IFSC Code: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
ACCOUNT NAME: xxxxxxxxxxxxx
ACCOUNT NO: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Once we get the handling fee we will send you a proforma invoice with all
other documents and information required for the import.
The Gehmann 4 stage pump is for Rs. 15,000 (available with us)

It would have been nice if you would have read the entire post made by me, but since you didn't I will clarify to avoid any confusion. The price mentioned on the stopper site includes 19% VAT which is applicable only for the countries in the European Union and since we are in India the VAT is not applicable to us therefore has to be deducted. I would have liked to avoid any prices being mentioned but since it has come up it would be best for me to mention the same.
As with any expensive purchase one would take a quote from the seller before ordering and the quote I received from stopper.de for a Steyr LP10 was Euro 1050 and freight via DHL Post Euro 33 which totals to Euro 1083. The bank transfer charges would be applicable irrespective of dealer/website or location. Which means as per the quote you received it would be Rs.4200/- more expensive to order through the site mentioned by you. Also while ordering a pistol if one did order other items it would increase the freight marginally which would enable you to get more value for your money.
Kindly note I have nothing to gain from promoting any dealer/website. The details provided by me were merely an attempt to be helpful to others and a response to a question.
And as far as the offense bit is concerned, don't worry none taken
cheers,

Thanks for the clarification ..My bad I missed the 19% VAT part ..the price and shipping charges looks pretty good to me when compare to other quotes . so as a total its really a good deal indeed.

Dear shadow,
I know the wait can be a drag, I had ordered some stuff via post and it took over a month to get and I had to go to the customs and get it cleared. That's the reason I had my LP10e shipped to me via courier and it arrived in 2 days. But its surely worth the wait.
