i bought an ihp national air gun its a break barrel, .177
after shooting about 500 pellets, its spring doesn't stop the trigger.
when i try to cock and bring the barrel down, the trigger doesn't stop and the barrel comes back. after 3-4 tries it stops the trigger.
sometimes it shoots the pellet before i take aim. without touching the trigger.
what's the problem ????
shud i take it back to the gun dealer where i bought it a month ago.

Re: ihp national cocking problem
2 possible issues here -
1. the spring is displaced / weak
2. the notch on the trigger has worn off.
get the gun exchanged from where you picked it up.
or
Cock the gun with your finger behind the trigger pushing it in the opposite direction and see if that holds - if it does then just open it and see if the trigger is in place or replace with a stronger spring.
if that isnt holding then the trigger notch is weak - although it can be fixed by yourself it does need retempering so take it to a gunsmith and get it done.
I would suggest option 1 - try and get the whole gun replaced.
