Indians For Guns

Greetings fellow gun lovers!!!

After months of procrastination, I've finally decided to buy an IHP 35 .22 air rfile. I called M/s Art Craft Sales, the IHP dealers in Delhi and they did not have it in stock, though they had the National 25 (their nomenclature is something I fail to understand till date). I've two options and two questions.

1. Should I get it from Aimco (a lot of +ve feedback in forum discussions) or from a local dealer (probably Garg Armoury, Kashmiri Gate, they quoted Rs. 4500 over phone)?

2. If I buy it locally, what all should I look for in the rifle to make sure its a fine piece?

Any insight would be highly appreciated.

Go for garg armoury, mr. rakesh (the owner) is a very nice person to deal with.....

IHP is a very good choice and its a very high quality air rifle as compared to other Indian models. As per my experience, main thing is to check its locking mechanism, make sure it locks properly after cocking and doesn't open with the thrust when you fire the gun.

Purchase from Garg Armoury. Buying from them you will also save on packing and freight also.

You can try Canon too - Reynold has one and it is doing very well.
but dont go in for the side cocking - go in for the break barrel.

I will be buying the rifle this weekend.

In the mean time just to check the waters, I called up Eastern Arms Co., Asaf Ali Road, New Delhi. The person answering the phone was courteous and quoted Rs. 4300 + taxes (almost the same as Garg Armoury).

Moreover, I was just curious that which pellets should I buy to begin with? Also, would you recommended any cleaning equipment, oils etc?

Just got to try a few shots. Trigger is a bit hard which is normal according to the forum. Will post the shooting report card soon.

I really need some tips on aligning the sights, please post your suggestions.
