Hey guy if the prices for old air guns are so high then i would like to take an idea that what would be the value of my BSa Airgun Under lever.The condition is good.Can see in picture.A very high velocity airgun.once i tried it on maruti 800 door,the pellet crossed the metel sheet made a hole in it.Some old gentleman was saying that during there time this rifle was sold on Liscence .is it true??Can experts give some details-model,year of manufacturing.

In the old days 1930s to 1940s many such Air Rifles were manufactured in Brimingham by BSA, Webley & Scott and Greener.

It is called a Greener GP Martini Action.

Read an article in Air Gun World. Such a gun commands a price close to GBP 800 to 1000 from collectors now.

Jeffery and Cogswell & Harrison also made them / and or sold them. Most were in .177 calibre, some in .22. Others like .20 and .25 perhaps did not exist then.

Records suggest WW Greener made 832 of these guns. The no. 796 featured in the article was made in 1939.

That looks like a BSA Lincoln Jeffries. Manufacture of these began in the early 1900's - 1905 or 1907, I forget which.

I may be wrong but I think Shahid's estimate is a bit too optimistic. 1/10 of his suggested prices is what it would fetch in the U.K. but I really could be wrong about this. Personally I doubt whether a mint example with the original box and papers would even fetch 300 quid.

BSA started manufacture of this in 1908. Fished out another old copy of Air Gun World from my archives.

This BSA is featured there. The design was developed by the firm of Georege Lincon Jefferies of Birmingham. Model D was the most famous.

Standard. Light and Junior patterns were produced. In 1910 the price was GBP 1. 75.

A similar Air Rifle by WW Greener was sold by Sothbys in 2005 to a collector for GBP 800. Bid started at GBP 500.

Junior versions, in . 177 push 4.5 ft lb of energy.

Mack The Knife i went through john knibbs site & found one picture of this gun in his banner,its the second picture from left in top row.showing the trigger adjusting screw.I already wrote to him requesting some details.

My friends Grandfather told me that when he bought the same model airgun it was endorsed on liscense. IS IT TRUE???any info in this regard??

Maybe in the old days it was. There wa licence for swords too at a fee of Rs. 1.50 per annum but no one needs sword licences now. In old licence books of 1960s it existed.
