Indians For Guns

Hi ! fellow gun lovers,
I appreciate that we have many gifted friends here who have sound knowledge of Air Rifles and other guns. KIndly compare the above three models of RWS Diana and throw some light on the performance, total life cycle , major complaints like barrel lean etc. , drawbacks like too heavy etc. , accuracy and other aspects like what will be the condition after say ten years.
The models under review are .22 Cal. and open sight only. Friends ! I need your valuable comments as I am planning to acquire one of them through personal baggage import method.

Also kindly tell us which option is better and more durable- - a Break-barrel or a Side-Lever Cocking one?

No offence........it is not barrel lean but barrel droop. All three airguns that you mentioned have their pros and cons. Look up the video section of pyramydair.com. There are good video reviews of the airguns there. Not sure if they are in .177 or .22 though. All three are durable. Depends on how you maintain them. Personal opinion only..........have shot all three but find the 54 most accurate, then the 34 and last the 350. All the best.

Thanks for your valuable piece of advice and sorry for my ignorance. Now I know that the correct word is 'droop'.

.22 cal import is is not allowed legally, you might be able to get away if import through personal baggage, but as per law its not allowed.

Absolutely no neccessity to say sorry. We are all out here to learn and get to know things. I just pointed out something to you. You too could do something like that in future. Agree with sa_ali. Legal import of .22 airguns is not allowed. Avoid the headache and get yourself a .177. All the best.

Get a .22 cal if you intend to use it other than blasting paper targets...
The .177 pellets are absolutely useless outdoors. (including PCP air rifles, coz my friends .177 Marauder is rubbish against my Diana Mod 45 in .22)

Dont quite agree. 177 has its own place and where allowed, it is a capable caliber for small game within reasonable distances.

I agree with miss_3006. The right .177 pellet in the right airgun is very much capable of performing on par with a .22 caliber airgun. All that is needed is that the combo should be in the right hands. No offence, but I bet my 54 in .177 would easily take on your .22 caliber 45;-)

Go in for the Diana 54. Its anti-recoil mechanism makes it worth buying. Most springers, especially RWS rifles, have a strong recoil. The power is also awesome in the 54.

A .177 springer with heavy pellets does the job.

Abbas....take it from me.......WHY?......because, I have all three....all three fantastic Diana rifles...

in short

350 - slim, long and powerful....easily one of the most powerful break barrels in the world.....but you have to learn to shoot this fella...

54 - heavy, very well engineered, powerful....boringly accurate...

34 - medium power, very accurate.....will be your ''GO TO GUN'' rifle any day...

with proper maintenance, these rifles will last a life time....will perform even better with tuning kits from Jim Maccari, V Mach or Vortek.....

.22cal, greater knockdown power....

.177cal, flatter pellet trajectory....

.....YOU CHOOSE....

No they are NOT. Proper pellets with correct rifle and moreover in PROPER HAND will give you outstanding results. I know, one fox (sized of a GSD) got killed with a .177 Diablo pellets fired from a German Tell rifle designed by Oscar Will . I still have that Rifle with me . The pellet fired from the back and it penetrates the skin and entered just behind the rib and straightly penetrates the heart, caused an instant death to that Fox. It May be a very tricky shot but also gives you an idea of penetration power of .177 Pellets.

* The incident mentioned above , happened before hunting were banned. Any sort of hunting is banned and illegal now in India.

Why the preference for .22 cal ? If you are planning on hunting, you need to know that hunting has been banned in our country for a long time. You can only hunt/shoot crows and rats.
What ever you choose, I feel its a lot of money to spend just to kill rats and crows.
