break barrel help needed

hey guyz i own many airguns but my fav has been my old savage 65 mod .22 break barrel but currently its in a dire state and its not loading my local airgunsmith wants to get a new piston for it ,kindly advice....

can you describe what exactly happens when you load and fire a pellet?

see as you go to load the bar that pushes the spring back slips and gets locked there.............. what should i do?
to remove the bar i have to take out the stock remove the barrel and push out the bar outside cause its stuck by the large circular oval shaped peice that gets pushed back..................its also started to rust now that it hasnt been used since long :stupid:

sir as u told i went and diss assembled it but when i slowly tried to load it ,it was successful and now its not giving me much of a problem thnx :wink:
