I'm quite sure that nobody will give you rifle just for rent, you can borrow someone's rifle for competition. If you cant afford Walther then go for Anshutz, with current prices for Walther Anshutz looks very attractive, also you can buy separate stock and action, sights and already customize your rifle during purchase, much better price too. From Walter you can get rifle and NO ONE !!! will tell you how to get this rifle functional up to max of what it (and you together) can deliver. from my experience Walther rifle is very raw deal as it comes from the box.

ajayshooter ,
It is going to be tough and close to impossible.. may be if you have a friend who has one, it is practical ... try joining KSRA and getting one of your own at the original price, expect a delay of 3 - 4 months this way!!
post an introduction, would be great to know about you and your interests!!

Ajay,
If possible come to Hyderabad for 6 weeks and join Shooting range in Hyderabad university. They charge Rs. 500 for membership and they will provide you rifle or pistol which ever you want on that day. They are having Walther Pistol and Anshutz rifles.
Regularly I visit there and using their rifle.

Walther Pistol
never seen one, I seen one Walther compact, but privately owned, those on range is Steyr LP10 - excellent quality pistols
Anshutz rifles 2002 models - a bit old and you cant adjust rifle used by everybody to your self.
but fact is that hyderabad is best place start shooting, thanks to those people who run the range and SAAP.

hi, the costs involved make it a risky proposal especially for hiring / renting and the likes. few accidental drops / hits, seemingly small damages to the sight / barrel can make a mess. doubt if anyone can rent out walther especially in india. the strict laws / pricing / taxation add to the mess. best to join any shooting range.
