Re: How to refill my IHP Compressed Air Pistol? Please Help
dev: Have you bought the filling hose unit from IHP ? It has a pressure gauge on it and costs about Rs. 3,500 ? You will need this if you want to fill from a scuba tank. I'll describe the procedure below.
The male coupling that screws into the front of the pistol (under the barrel and into the air cylinder) comes along with the pistol.
There's a circular hole cut into a brass adapter that is at the other end of the hose from the pressure gauge. You slip this over the male adapter that you have screwed into the pistol itself.
Behind the pressure gauge is a threaded nut that screws into a scuba tank.
Put this rig together (finger tight only - ENSURE THERE IS NO PETROLEUM BASED LUBRICANT/OIL etc anywhere - rub down all threads with a degreaser if you have to).
Ensure that the bleed valve knob is shut - just finger tight (see below).
Now SLOWLY turn the tap on the scuba tank whilst keeping your eye on the pressure gauge. The pressure should rise very slowly - do not jerk the tap open. By slow I mean the needle should crawl - slower than the second hand on a watch.
Let it fill to 140 bar MAX, lower is OK (familiarize yourself with the markings on the dial before starting). Now shut the air tank tap tight. Right next to the gauge dial is a large knurled brass nut. This is the bleed valve.
Now open the bleed valve - do it very quickly; in fact, practice opening it with a sudden twist of your fingers (like snapping your fingers) before you start any of this.
There will be a sudden hiss and the the high pressure in the fill hose will equalize to atmosphere - do this slowly and you will loose pressure from the pistol itself, which is a waste.
Dismantle the rig and pack it away in clean plastic bags - dirt and dust is your biggest enemy here.
Your pistol is now ready.
There's nothing to be scared about, but high pressure air tanks must be treated with the utmost respect - they can be VERY DANGEROUS if misused or abused. Hope this helps. My apologies for not being able to take and upload pics to make this easier to understand. I'll do it if a couple of you think it's necessary.
I suggest you have someone who has done this before show you the ropes before you start. If that's not possible do a couple of dry runs and then do it yourself.
Hope is is helpful
Ashok

Re: How to refill my IHP Compressed Air Pistol? Please Help
Very well explained by Ashok........Just to add keep the bulk cylinder vertical when you start to open the valve to start the flow of compressed air. If you are using a pump, start by using it in a AC room so there is least moisture and give a break every 16 to 20 strokes. Remember your pistol is all steel and you want the least amount of moisture in the air cylinder........Shankar

Stuff the vaccum cleaner, even if you do cobble up an adaptor, you will ruin your gun
Dev6862 and Kamaldangi, pray enlighten us on what you two were planning to do when the shots ran out?
I note you both have one post each.
Why did you not gather more info on PCPs from this forum and the internet before picking up your airguns?
Kamaldangi do you see Bindra or any air rifle/pistol shooter EVER running around with a Hoover? If no, what led you to this brainwave?
The only reason I force myself to answer this type of question repeatedly, despite multiple threads in the past, is because someday some ignoramus is either going to kill/maim himself, besides irrepairably ruining the gun.
