I was hunting around for a Air Rifle on the internet and came across this site http://www.indiaarms.com. They seem to have quite a good collection, going by the website. I found the Hesbee Model 35 for only INR 2,500 no details provided on the website but it says that it is exactly like Diana Model 35.

They also supply National/IHP Models at decent prices

My question is how can it be so cheap when the IHP/National is selling for upwards of INR 3500 and the orignal Diana Model 35 is INR 30,000

I was thinking about placing an order from Aimco after reading the positive reviews here however, this has confused me. Anyone has any idea about these guys and the quality of products they offer prices seem to be too good to be true.

Any help will be appreciated as this is my first Air Rifle. My first Air Pistol was an old second rusted Air Pistol which was a hand me down from a cousin

Mods: I have already searched the forums and found a few references to the Hesbee without any reviews and wanted to clarify about the same

As it is with most things in life, what you pay for is what you get. Please note that the Hesbee model 35 is supposed to be "like" Diana, not Diana itself.

I would stick with the IHP if I were you. Scant discussion of the Hesbee brand probably gives you an idea of how popular it is on IFG

I tried viewing this site.

Looks like a good amount of work has gone through and they need to work around on their e-Commerce so that the catalog page becomes users friendly with images and more info.

I liked their Ammo column and they have a wide choice readily available.

Any idea about the difference in the prices quoted between India Arms and the other IHP Dealers? I have dropped an email to them asking if they ship it to other cities and what are the payment options available.


Waiting to hear from them.

Anyone had any personal experience or ordered from them?

They have not updated the website since launch about 4 years ago.

Go with the IHP 35 and like you had thought of earlier, contact Aimco for it. They offer very good service.

I guess so, now its just down to the caliber .22 or .177

which one to choose

Depends on your requirements.

Target Practice and Training - .177
Pest Control - .22

To start off go with .177 which would serve the purpose.

Go for .22 and then when you are dead accurate to challenge .5mm, you can think of .177

After reading all the informative posts I believe the best will be .177 National Rifle with Mastershot pellets. Sorry T20 dont have many pests in my area so this will only be for target practice.

Hopefully I shall be able to afford something better in the future but for now...this should do

Just an update, its been a week since I wrote to India Arms requesting an updated price list and availability. No response as of now, I guess they don't want any more business

Its sad that in today's day and age where the Internet and email has become so important as a means to reach out to the consumers these firms do not use the technology available.

pumbaa if u r keen on airgunning get an imported airrifle-they are easily availaible through USA etc for which you must get a rifle club membership.thats better than local indian models but anyway IHP is still the best indian model

When an Indian arms dealer launches his website, he has certain goods in stock and at then prevailing rates.

But the dealer himself is not sure, that when will his stock be replenished. The manufacturers in India are not so prompt in supplying ordered goods on time and at the rates contracted.

We dealers have to be on the mercy of the manufacturers. The rates may go up and down at the will of the manufacturer. More over the manufacturer makes the goods at his own will and not on market demand or consumer feed back. What they make, if we need we may buy it or some other dealer will buy it.

None of the manufacturers have visited their dealers place for a long time.

Hence, its very difficult to keep the website up to date or keep the customers informed promptly.

Myself am unable to inform my customers about the availability of the goods, since my vendor doesn't give me information on time.

Hi Andy, unfortunately I don't have a budget as this time to buy an imported rifle (I completely agree with your point as far as quality is concerned however, as you will know once imported from abroad the cost of ownership of the Air Rifle becomes very high with the amount of bribes one has to pay to procure it as well as the limited support & spares available)
Moreover, I want to test the waters as of now and if I get any good at it will invest in a better gun. For now its a old hobby which I wanted to rekindle.

Hi Husen, I can understand the predicament of people such as yourself. I believe that its not enough to blame the manufacturers and the market should be opened for all international companies. Only with such open competition will things get better for all of us.

Till then we are at the mercy of the manufacturing companies & those dealers who are making a good amount of profit from the helpless consumers
